Pregnant Jessica Simpson Craving Buttered Pop Tarts, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese: Delicious or Disgusting?

We understand that Jessica Simpson is very pregnant and, naturally, experiencing cravings. But her appetite is a little nasty -- even by mama-to-be standards. "I had a buttered Pop Tart this morning. I'm eating a lot of stuff that I ate in my childhood. Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, Pop Tarts, Cap'n Crunch. Everything's filled with sugar," she told "Extra."

Now, we love ourselves a tasty Pop Tart now and then, but it's safe to say that Pop Tarts do not need extra butter. And do people really still eat Cap'n Crunch? Simpson adds that she's happy to give in to her cravings. "I'm like, 'Yeah, I can do it. We'll worry about the rest afterwards," said the singer-reality star-shoe designer, who recently publicly admired Jessica Alba's toned post-baby body. She tweeted: "New goal: look like @jessicaalba after baby. Job well done lady!"

Simpson is also downing plenty of heartburn meds. "(I am) definitely eating a lot of Tums ... I have the reflux and acid going on," said the notoriously TMI star. Jessica is rumored to be the next face of Weight Watchers, and she has a new fashion-themed reality show in the works with Nicole Richie. Sounds like she'll be slim again before long -- but not if she keeps eating buttered Pop Tarts!

It's disgusting how we talk about a pregnant woman with weird eating habits as if it's "wrong". Some women crave things that aren't even edible and we gossip about a woman who craves Mac & Cheese???

What's wrong with a buttery pastry lol? The reason I don't like poptarts is because they are dry...and not buttery and flaky like a pastry SHOULD be. That's why I'm for toaster strudels all the way! Jessica, way to go. Sounds like you made a huge improvement to those nasty things.

Craft macaroni and cheese does not even taste like food in my opinion. Here's real mac and cheese:
    homemade mac and cheese
  • Nuke Bibliop... 2012/01/14 05:53:02
That's because you've never made Kraft correctly like most people...
  • Bibliop... Nuke 2012/01/14 17:32:01
I simply prefer to cook a pot of macaroni and add cheese and milk.
  • Nuke Bibliop... 2012/01/15 04:08:26
Yes that is the right way yo make it, Milk, butter and real cheese but you can still use the shells which are perfectly fine.
  • S123 Nuke 2012/01/15 22:44:01
You mean the use the shells from the box of craft macaroni and cheese and throw out the packet of cheese powder?
  • Nuke S123 2012/01/16 01:52:44
Sometimes, sometimes I just use the powder with real cheese but mostly yes sometimes I just skip the powder and use real cheese.
  • S123 Nuke 2012/01/16 02:16:50
Why don't you just get the macaroni on it's own?
  • Nuke S123 2012/01/16 03:58:57
Depends on if its already in the house or not, I don't do the shopping and I'm never home so I rarely eat at home really.

Not if it's GMO-free. Which a couple products are. You just have to look for them. Not at wal-mart though because then you won't ever find them.
  • Nuke Adam Ju... 2012/01/15 04:47:47
GMO? I don't really care, I'm not going to live my life in fear, I'd rather die happy eating what I want than to live a long life and never eat anything good and if it's anything like tofu or crap that's supposedly "healthy" like that no thanks.
  • Adam Ju... Nuke 2012/01/15 04:51:26

Tofu is soy, which is unhealthy. You can just look up where the food is coming from and make decisions on what you want through that. However, if you want to weigh 600 pounds and die from a heart attack before the age of 30, go ahead.
  • Nuke Adam Ju... 2012/01/15 05:07:53 (edited)
Well for one thing Adam, I'm 31 so you lose right there... I don't eat tofu either.
    2. I don't eat a lot of fast food or even eat cake or pie or candy ( it's very rare.)
    3. I just think if you do things in moderation and balance you're fine, I've stayed at consistent weight for a long while now so I'm not worried.
I'm just saying, I'm not going to stop eating something because people claim it's bad for you, when doctors stop going back and forth telling me that first eggs are good, then eggs were bad, then they were good because of protein, wait they're bad because they have cholesterol, wait it's good cholesterol...
When they freaking figure it out then I'll be more apt to believe what is good and bad so for now I will eat what I want and you can kindly shut your mouth.
  • S123 Nuke 2012/01/15 02:14:13
    What makes you think that?
  • Nuke S123 2012/01/15 04:10:04
I know because I see how people make it and they do it the wrong way which is why some people say it tastes like crap, IF they did it the right way it would taste good...

    Actually, who cares?

It is her body. She can do what she wants with it. It is a free country after all.

Well the Doctor might. As well as her family, because it's very possible that it could affect the child in a negative way.
  • unaff 2012/01/14 02:16:45
Lots of women have odder cravings. That said, I always like to say if you have to pop Tums after eating something, it's your body saying 'don't eat that'. Listen to it.

If I had her money, I'd be craving blueberries, Perrier, Pepperidge Farm and Godiva. Poptarts and mac and cheese? She could eat my house.

That we should give an opinion on what pregnant women crave. Trust me I have heard of a lot worse. Granted she may be sorry if she indulges to much..but really who cares??

How healthy will the baby be with all the unhealthy "food" she's eating? She might as well eat 10 "Luther burgers"
