    The question is 'what happened'?

The whole story, not just the propaganda by a leftist on TV.

If the force was justified, then good...if not, the authorities should respond accordingly.

ok, there are some pretty rediculous comments going on here....obviously a few ignorant people tooting their horns. First of all, I smoked marijuana on a daily basis all through highschool, as well as skipping class all the time, and I am now a straight A college student soon to be at Stanford Law School. Smoking Marijuana has absolutely nothing to do with a person's level of intelligence, and comments alluding to this are simply based on institutionalized ignorance and false information fostered by our society. Second, this behavior is not LEGAL by our due process in this country. A person cannot be arrested without being charged with something, and as the video indicates, he was only charged with resisting arrest, without being first charged with another crime that would make him a cantidate for arrest in the first place, therefore invalidating the entire situation. Third, in the case that he was being arrested for something, it would have been quite easy for these two gigantic cops to simply take the kid down to the grass, put a knee on him, and place him in cuffs. But they did not. The brutality is defined here by the fact that these cops could have subdued this kid in a completely harmless way, like most other respectable police do, but they went above and beyond ...

But they did not. The brutality is defined here by the fact that these cops could have subdued this kid in a completely harmless way, like most other respectable police do, but they went above and beyond in a physically harmful and potentially deadly manner without ANY necessity whatsoever. This is especially true considering that all cops nowadays carry tasers, which will harmlessly subdue ANY suspect. If I had the chance I would be ecstatic to help this family sue these two cops for unneccesary and intentional infliction of pain and suffering. In conclusion, if you think that talking back to a cop, or skipping school, or even smoking weed makes a person deserving of a beatdown instead of simply being arrested, you are a complete and total idiot, and perhaps you would find more people who align with your political philosophy in, perhaps, Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, etc. where these practices are normal.

Yes, especially in Toledo, Ohio; I really feel that some kind of discipline should be administered where these two officers are concerned. What they did to this 14 year old boy is ashame. What kind of message are they sending, hook or crook cops!

14 years old and he already has a rap sheet, was on probation, hanging out and smoking weed when he should have been in school? LOSER!
Maybe he will take this as a wake up call and straighten out.
He needs to wise up, too.
YOU DON'T TAKE ON THE COPS. YOU WON'T WIN.

Can't tell from the video what really happened.
Word of a child against and officer. Hard line to draw. Need more evidence. Not saying it didn't/couldn't happen, but word against word isn't really going to sway me on this. If he was a stellar kid he wouldn't have been in that predicament in the 1st place. That being said, cops are good for pulling that kind of thing, and no it wouldn't suprise me one iota... Glad I am not the judge...

First off the whole story is not on the tape! Second how stupid is it to show the tape on Utube when you are possibly going to windup in court?

Maybe this is why they live in government housing?
I think the idea is to do what the officers ask when they ask? But what do I know as I am always polite and do as they ask?

(May 19) - The mother of a 14-year-old boy said her son was beaten so badly by police officers earlier this month that she didn't recognize him when she went to find him at the hospital.
Karen Casey told CNN's Headline News that her son, Trevor, and his friends were sitting on the steps of a home in Toledo, Ohio, when police told them to move. Trevor, according to Casey, was slow to get up and police grabbed him and slammed his face on a squad car.

Trevor said the hood of the vehicle was too hot and he tried to get up, at which point police choked him, his mother told CNN.
Police said the boy refused orders to leave a home where he was loitering and resisted arrest repeatedly.
The incident was caught on video and it shows Trevor restrained in a chokehold by a police officer. His face is bloody and he appears to be unconscious before he falls to the ground.
"He thought he was going to die," Casey said. "He felt like they were crushing the lights out of him."

"His mother came in ... and filed a formal complaint with internal affairs, and the matter will be thoroughly investigated," Toledo Police Chief Mike Navarro said in a statement.
Casey told CNN her son is now doing fine and did not suffer any lasting injuries.

So you believe a 14 year old with a rap sheet, on probation and smoking pot instead of being in school like he was supposed to?
    Great choice.

So kids now attend school at nite? According to the officers he admitted to smoking pot. Again ACCORDING to the officers he admitted it. How about two huge guys beating on a kid and choking him unconscious? That means nothing right? they were accused of loitering. Seems to me that accusation was uncalled for according to the person who lived there huh?

The occupant of 175 Brand Whitlock, Shari Weems, 19, who shot the video that appears on Youtube, said the accusation of loitering was unnecessary.

"The police had no reason to come here and tell them to move," she said. "They were not causing any problems."

OK so Chris Rock is funny. It actually has nothing to do with real life police brutality. And it does happen.

    Of course police brutality happens.
Chris Rock is hilarious and like many he bases his comedy on reality. If you act like an a--hole towards the cops they're going to take you down. (you try it and tell me what happens)
Trevor acted like an a--hole and he got his a-- kicked for it. His friends were bright enough to run away, not Trevor.

Actually, if I was at my friends home, and the cops came to tell me I was loitering and I knew I wasnt, I wouldnt back down. Im free. This is America. Or supposed to be anyway. but I would immediately get out my camera and begin filming the instant they tried to tell me what to do. I know my rights. Those cops will be fired, and from everything I saw on that video that kid wasnt resisting yet they continued to choke him unconscious. You could also see him digging his fingers in his face. So as he is choking him into unconsciousness, he digs his fingers in his face? At that point he was subdued, so what reasoning is there behind digging your fingers in someones face as you choke them? Two on one? Two big boys on one. i say boys because no man would gang up on a kid. The only charge is resisting arrest. What was the arrest for? If he was being arrested to resist arrest, what was the charge? Being told to leave someones house that said it was ok for you to be there? Nah, I dont buy it.
