Sky News reported Vicks is well known for playing with rocks and zoo staff believe it was an accident rather than him trying to make an escape.

The polar bear was relocated to a new pen so the glass could be fixed.

Wow ..
the two visitors are lucky that glass didn't totally cave in ..
they'd have been crushed by the water, sliced to pieces by the shattered glass ..
seems to me .. this is a bit much on 'glass' at this time (they need to look at cutting down the viewing area)

I was hoping that it was more planned....like pressed against the glass, with an evil smile...waiting for the best moment to eat as many people as possible...darn

Those two guys are really lucky that window didn't cave in. They'd of had a few tons of water on top of them before they had time to react.

Poor bear. In the Stanley Park zoo in Vancouver, there was a polar bear there who was quite demented and he just paced back and forth in a trance. I don't like zoos.

I don't know if that bear was being "Playful" That rock shattered glass that first traveled through water. I won't go so far as to say it was an escape attempt, but that bear seemed pissed Maybe he found out that Coca-Cola replaced him in the Christmas Commercials for a Younger, Hotter Polar Bear.
