Ah, a nice relaxing facial at the spa. Sounds great, doesn't it? Your dog thinks so, too, according to some pet owners. Yes, The New York Daily News reports that spa treatments like blueberry facials, blow drys and tooth brushings with specially flavored paste are all on the menu at some upscale pet boutiques, like Manhattan's Downtown Doghouse spa.
But some owners have gone past pampering to actual body modifications, like tattoos, earrings, tummy tucks and facelifts, according to the paper. One New York lawmaker has already proposed a law that would ban cosmetic alterations for pets in the state. So what do you think: would you get cosmetic surgery for your pet?

- Badgerbumface 2012/05/25 21:21:11Crazy+6What the hell is wrong with these people?! I could understand it if the pet's face was horribly disfigured in an accident and needed emergency surgery, but animals are not vain like people are and therefore don't need to be changed. Let's just leave it at handbag dogs, k?reply
- lorenab. 2012/05/25 21:20:52Crazy+3really? why would you even get your dogs ears pierced? and then i mean our dog has a tattoo on his stomach.... but thats because it tells people that he's been neutered!:D hahareply

+5Also, side note; plastic surgery is cases where it is needed. (i.e. burn victim or something like that) would be ok. But for non-medical reasons, deffo no.reply - Sister ... Kei_Jo 2012/05/25 21:51:57

+3Apparently some whacked out owners think so. I remember seeing a show where some woman and her husband remodeled their home and turned their dog in to the pound. Her reason, "It no longer matches the decor." I couldn't believe I heard thatreply - ~Kutie~ Coaster... 2012/05/27 19:48:59
That's terrible! It doesnt match the decore realy? image obbsesed people dont get very far.reply - Coaster... ~Kutie~ 2012/05/28 14:36:01
I don't talk to my tv as a rule but I was yelling at it that night. I still can't get past that. You give ups a pet and when asked why you say "It doesn't match the furniture anymore" REALLY?
