Poor animals.

The Olsen twins have created another unbelievably expensive backpack -- and this time, they've managed to incur the wrath of PETA. The People for Ethical Treatment of Animals slammed the "Trollsen Twins" for the almost $17,000 fur backpack they designed for their fashion line, The Row.

"If it looks like a troll and acts like a troll, it's probably a Trollsen Twin -- or someone wearing one of their new $16,000 totes, which are made from the fur and skins of innocent animals," PETA said in a statement to E! News. "What the Olsens lack in creativity, they try to make up for in shock value. Sadly, it's the foxes, calves, and alligators -- who often have the fur ripped off them while they are still conscious and able to feel pain -- who pay the dearest price."
Despite the price -- and the pain -- stylist-to-the-stars Rachel Zoe called the accessory "next season's staple item." We're not sure how many schoolkids can afford an almost $17,000 backpack, but we guess they're out there ... Do you think PETA was too hard on the Olsen twins? Or right on the money?

PETA are psycho.
No need to take sides because both are equally wrong. PETA psycho, bag is ugly and didn't need to be made from real skin/fur (really nothing should be these days).
How about this side: $17,000 for that ugly back is ridiculous!
SUCK IT, PETARDS!!!
First off who in their right mind would pay that much for a backpack.
That aside, I have no problem with leather because we eat most of the cow and I don't have a problem with furs being used for warmth although I don't think it is right to strictly raise animals in cages for their fur. If someone hunts and eats rabbits or any other furred animal by all means use the fur for warmth, but to use it for a fashion statement on a backpack is just sick in my opinion.
As for PETA, to quote Robin Williams, in his movie "Hook," they can go suck on a dead dog's nose. They are purely alarmists that give no real value to society, and should be disbanded. Either that or they should accept what was said in the Bible, that the animals were put here for the use and benefit of man, and change their name from "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals" to "People for Edible and Tasty Animals."
Many people don't realize that there are international laws in place to regulate the fur trade and keep things kosher. For example, the IFTF, International Fur Trade Federation.
Consider a designer who is using fur to make garments. The designer doesn't want to purchase torn and split skins from someone who caught a couple of skinny raccoons in a cage and bludgeoned them. Skins from animals which have been beaten would not sell because of the imperfection. The designer wants to purchase lovely whole skins which came from creatures that w...

Consider a designer who is using fur to make garments. The designer doesn't want to purchase torn and split skins from someone who caught a couple of skinny raccoons in a cage and bludgeoned them. Skins from animals which have been beaten would not sell because of the imperfection. The designer wants to purchase lovely whole skins which came from creatures that were well fed and well looked after, because those skins make for perfect, amazing garments. So that designer likely purchases from a licensed and registered breeder, who breeds animals which are either in abundance, or considered to be pests (rabbits, for example. Did you know that they reproduce so quickly that if we don't do anything to control the rabbit population they will become a health hazard in less than five years?). These animals will be handled with care, fed a specific diet, and attended to by a veterinarian. They will then be euthanized in a way which is clean, quick and painless. The skins will be sold to garment makers and the rest of the carcass may be used for other purposes.
So no. Not all people who wear fur are evil. Not all people who need the fashiona and fur industry to feed their families are evil. If you want to wear fur, don't let PETA haters bring you down. Don't let people control your own beliefs and opinions. If the Olsens want to make profit from fur, if the fur comes from a licensed breeder, it is ok. Attention whore organisations like PETA are starting to annoy me. You don't have to troll on people who don't have the same beliefs and opinions as you. The Olsens are not the trolls here, since PETA was founded in 1980, it has been the biggest troll ever. And now I wanna troll too.
Your actions have made me become pro-fur PETA...
"Hmm i think tonight i'm gonna go buy some shoes made from Human skin" :D
Sickos.
PETA is one of the largest groups of psychos & morons walking the planet today. I can't even believe there are people advocating the idea of attacking these ladies for having a business.
News Flash idiots! Here in the land of the free. You do not have to buy anything from them. So leave it at that & go about your life!
Second, PETA is a group of people who want to burn people at the stake for having anything to do with animals but love. They try to FORCE their opinion on other people and shun them if they don't agree. You could call them a radical religion, if you wanted.
Whether you agree or not, that is my belief.
There have been many overpowering, tyrannical political groups/people in history aside communism. You are just talking about the behavior. But you yet to tell me how that political system and organization is molded into an activist group.
I don't condone PETA's actions in what they do (they are extreme), but I am a supporter of animal rights. Humans have done countless disgusting things in past history and today. Animals have rights just like everyone else on this planet. and Humans are animals as well. I understand that there are natural orders in this world, but cruelty is not one of those orders. That's my opinion as well
I'm a fan of animal rights, definitely. I don't think they should be tested on. I don't think they should be abused. I don't think they should be neglected. I don't think they should be hurt when killed for food or fur. I don't think they should be treated like animals (for lack of a better word). I definitely agree with this. I would be a member of PETA if they weren't so hypocritical and tyrannical.
This is not okay.
Never heard of the HFA though, who are they?
No, just Islam.
{But you yet to tell me how that political system and organization is molded into an activist group.}
Wrong order. They are already activist with communist/Nazi/etc.leanings and then they join up. They also have to be certifiably insane but since they are PETA, they qualify.
{Animals have rights just like everyone else on this planet. and Humans are animals as well.}
I think I read that in the Bill of Rights. Agreed. Humans are animals too BUT we're the smarter ones. Their thinking power is minimal as well as their understanding what is about to happen to them. If they're that dumb, they don't really deserve all that much consideration.
