In fact only 4% of violent crimes are committed by PERSONS diagnosed a mental illness. the answer is FALSE
PERSONS with diagnosed mental illness can function very well under proper management by a competent doctor and support from family and friends.
The sad things are that there is a stigma because of under-education about mental illness. Worse yet the stigma and bad mouthing can prevent many loved ones from seeking medical care.
