That's true, both can & easily. Keeping things interesting isn't that hard, when both put a conscious effort to do so though.

Wow I'm sorry your dad had such a strongly negative influence on your perception of sex. People are all different, sex is different for everyone with different partners, in different situational, in different social/cultural contexts, in different stages of our lives. What your father said may have had Some truth in it for some men and relevant to all men in certain situations, but you cannot categorise the entire male population into either 'this' or 'that'. Men are not robots, they are wired very differently to women, they think differently and their feelings evolve differently, and they express themselves differently. That doesn't mean just because they are different, that they don't have any thoughts or feelings. And just because your father may be a certain way, and just because he thinks all other men are just like him, that doesn't mean they are. He is just one man with that opinion. I'm sure there are plenty of others who are like that too, but do not overgeneralise so much. If you live with such a negative, closed mind, you will self prophecise and will create your own predictions in your relationships. Try opening your mind to other possibilities, and don't take everything your father says as fact. Don't make your life cold like he has. Life doesn't have to be that way. No, it's a real relationship only they are allowed to have meaningless sex with other people. It's good for people who are very sexually driven and can manage to keep their emotions in check and not get attached to another person. They have to be incredibly in love and devoted to one another to be able to pull this off successfully.

Ugh, I meant to click the one above it! I don't promote it, per se, because I think people should do whatever they want. Their bodies, their decisions. But for me, I don't mind a little promiscuity. If I were with someone, I'd be monogamous (and it's always been like that in past relationships) but when you're single, I don't think there's anything wrong with having a little fun. And that's what I'm doing right now. I certainly don't think it makes you a bad person.

Yes there is a difference. And even promiscuity itself has varying levels of promiscuity. What one person may think as promiscuous, another might see as prudish. Everything is a matter of perception. What do you think?
