Having SEX with a Man or Woman you don't even know IS DISGUSTING And I would never get myself involved with someone like that Because if I were in a relationship with a person who had a promiscuous past............. I think a promiscuous person most likely has a mental problem; just my opinion.

Promiscuity has never had any appeal to me. As a girl I always dreamed of having a husband who was true to me and to have children with that man. Fortunately my dreams came true and I couldn't have asked for better. I knew in my teens that I was among the minority as it was the 60's with Beatlemania and all the Hippies were promoting 'Free Love'. But I still enjoyed myself without promiscuity.

I never got caught up in the sixties "free love" fiasco either, which was really "free sex".

What IS important is when promiscuous behavior makes you a menace -- as when someone spreads disease, or actively opposes the dissemination of information/warnings regarding such risks (presumably because it potentially limits their sexual prospects, or simply makes them feel unwanted shame).

Or when you kill any babies that result from your actions.

Sin is separate and distinct from sinners. The first choice is probably the closest to the truth on this issue, but make the statement that they are "bad people". People are just people. They aren't good or bad. In fact, it is believed that they are good by nature. All persons are attacked by evil. We have varying degrees to which we cooperate with evil. This is the whole trick to morality. Working hard to not cooperate with evil. To lower ones level of concupiscence. When we pray, and when we put up a fight, and trust in the Lord we are rewarded in two ways. First, the attacks by evil are more often held at bay to begin with, and secondly, when they occur, we are strengthened by the sacrament in resisting the temptations. I think you'll find more often than not, the promiscuous are not likely engaging in daily heartfelt prayer, and have decided not to fight temptation at any deeply sincere level. This does not make them bad people. We are all made in the image and likeness of God. It means at this time in their life they are either low on spiritual strength, understanding of moral principles, or both. It is a recoverable state with love, guidance, and education.

But the choice is then do I wish to associate with promiscuous persons?Which would be a no.I'm a parent.I've known many people who find nothing wrong with bringing a lover into their bed with their children in the home or have no problem having sex with a person willing to do so but that is something I have absolutely no respect for.I have far too much respect and value for myself and my children (or theirs) to ever contemplate it.As difficult as that may be.

I know a mother of 3 boys whose oldest son saw her coming out of her bedroom one morning with his baseball coach! What the hell is wrong with a parent like that???? I was a single parent (divorcee) for 7 years and never once did I have a man stay overnight with me! I never wanted my son to wake up and see some guy there that I wasn't married to. Even when i did remarry, my new husband didn't stay over til our wedding night!

Actually it is hardwired into our being, it is of value to the human race as a whole, the drive for reproducing more genetically diverse offspring makes the successful future of humanity more likely.

One of the main problems with society is promiscuity. It makes for one of two things. 1) A bunch of dead babies OR 2) A bunch of kids growing up not being raised the right way and turning into the douchebag, pieces of crap that are currently beginning to overrun our country.

Sin , immorality and those who do such wrong and must not be given a scapegoat and or cuddled. Society and civil norms must be adhered to. No hating or such but immoral behavior is to be addressed always. So folks history is load and clear on this.

You want to live a lifestyle that is high risk for STD's etc., go right ahead. It's, quite literally, YOUR funeral, not mine. Even if no STD is contracted, statistics show that ovarian cancer rates rise in pace with the number of sex partners you've had as does Hepatitis C, HPV, etc.

You live your way, I'll live mine. I don't see this a a moral issue, but purely as a health issue - public health issue, as it will ultimately involve your spouse and/or kids.

People who don't have safe sex get stds and disease, that is a bit over the top to generalise ALL promiscuous people as getting diseases. If that was true, most people in the world would have these diseases, which most people do not..

The number of sex partners does impact likelihood of development o some health issues.....safe sex, even if conscientiously practiced does NOT prevent all increases in health risk.

Those who participate in more obviously sinful behaviors aren't any more sinners than the rest of us. They need to repent, just like the rest of us.
