Pastel Hair: Hot or Not?

Pastel hair is becoming more of a norm these days, thanks in part to celebrities like Katy Perry. I like pastel hair better than brighter, bolder colors. It creates sort of a soft pretty look when done right. What do you think? Is pastel hair hot or not?

I'm currently in the throes of growing my hair out, which requires patience, precision and a will of steel. It's all I can do to not chop it all off into a pixie cut again, but then I remember that my ultimate goal is to have long, flowing hair, so I can do fun stuff to it. If done correctly, yes. However I just don't get how some people think if you dye your hair an unnatural color, you're a fake or lowclass. That's a tad bit stupid....
However I think this is cool...

Though I wear wigs because I don't want to damage my hair with all the dyes since my hair (in this case, wigs) always match up with the outfit I am wearing. So one day I will be wearing bright pastel colors, dark colors the next.

Is it the trend these days to have to look TOTALLY fake? At one time, you died your hair to hide grey and tried to make it as natural-looking as possible, so no one could tell you'd dyed it. Same if you changed your colour - it was meant to look as though that new colour was your natural.
