If their people want them to wear (unnecessary) clothing (and it doesn't cause them obvious distress), then I see nothing wrong with it. It's not much different than infants wearing clothes (when they don't need them for protection).
Most of my pets wear clothes when it's cold, and during the holidays. It doesn't bother them, doesn't cause them distress (a few even enjoy it), and it amuses me.

It’s that time of year where people get swept up in overzealously decorating everything they can get their hands on. Some focus on the pretty paper and brightly colored bows that will adorn each and every package they dole out. Others struggle to place just the right amount of tinsel upon each branch of their flocked Christmas trees. And then there are those who go overboard with light displays that are so very loud and bright they cause the neighbors to call the city with complaints.
And while all of these might seem a bit obsessive, they don't really impact the holidays of another living soul. But there is a group of enthusiastic pet lovers who just might be influencing the way their little fluffy friends feel around the holidays. You know the ones. Those chipper individuals who like to adorn their pups and kittens in fur coats and sweaters to ring in the merriest time of the year.
Some animals appear to be enjoying the added coziness of a bit more fur on a cold winter’s day. But others really look like they’re humiliated to be dressed in less-than-dapper human-like duds just because December 25th has rolled around. What do you think: Should Pets Be Dressed in Xmas Clothes?

- BeccaBlueeyes 2013/01/05 21:44:19No. It’s embarrassing.I don't agree to the dressing them up because its cute. Do any of us adults like being dressed up by others no not really the only animal that should be wearing anything are the winter coats for small dogs. But to do it for fashion or cuteness is ridiculous!reply
- BubbyBobble 2013/01/05 07:18:15Yes. It’s cute.Yes, but only if it's something that they're comfortable in. My little babies need their sweaters to stay warm. :)reply

- Magie 2012/12/29 21:43:42Yes. It’s cute.If the animal is comfortable in it then why not. Its the owner that spending money and if its not hurting the animal like mentioned then I don't see anything wrong with it. Just don't exagerate and also like mentioned if its hot use common sense.reply
- BaylorT 2012/12/29 13:55:40No. It’s embarrassing. It's not even that it's embarrassing, It's disgusting. Dogs and all other other pets are not meant to wear clothes so why do people do it. I hate it. (I guess you can tell I'm a bit of an Animal Lover)reply

- rich 2012/12/26 15:31:31No. It’s embarrassing. In the winter, according to my Vet, they do need clothing, especially if they are older and outside because it helps with arthritis when they walk -- at least it helps Gurl-dog limp less. But anybody, human, canine or feline, dressed like a Christmas tree should be embarrassed! Truly! A black sweater is tasteful though and she likes it. LOLreply
- unaff 2012/12/26 15:05:52Yes. It’s cute.+1I used to have a problem with dressing animals until I got a small dog as a stray. She was constantly shivering, so I broke down and bought her a sweater, very out of character. It helps her be more comfortable and when it comes out of the dryer, she rushes up and actually sticks her head into it.reply

I respect you and anyone else decision on what they do with their animal.reply - ButterflyEcho 2012/12/25 19:18:18Yes. It’s cute.+1As long as the pet doesn't mind, who cares? It may help him/her stay warm, too. People care too much what others do, especially when it doesn't affect their lives. Plus, if the cat wants to don a santa suit, more power to him/her, I say!reply
- Meggies1104 2012/12/25 18:48:03Yes. It’s cute.+1If they want to, then let me.. sometimes people really only have their pets.. no on else, it might make them feel better when they do that. Ireply

Smiles. I image how he wiggle his tail in them(:reply - darkgami.mitchell 2012/12/25 06:41:50Yes. It’s cute.+1Would help some pets with the cold harsh weather. There needs to be a "maybe" or a undecided option. I don't exactly dress my puppy for the holidays but I will put him in a vest or something because I don't like to see him shivering when he's outside using the bathroom or wants to play. Fur doesn't always mean they are warm and cozy.reply
