Quantcast

Our cat Moe and our 1 yr old Parrotlet, Dale, seem to be forming a rather unique bond.

(Oh, and check out Moe's rather unique face. One side is tabby striped and the other is regular tiger striped. The markings on her neck are the opposite. Dale's brother, Chip, has another home as they were bonding too much to allow us to do so with either of them. Since Chip has been in his new home, Dale has been finding other umm.. attachments. LOL!
You!

Dale isn't frightened at all. Moe, is a pita (pain in the...). However, she is very unique and a BIG girl.

No. I don't think parrotlets, typically, do. They are very loving birds, though, once they are acclimated to someone. (Edit: I am wrong. They can be trained to talk!)

If I can get our African Grey and Cockatoo to sit still long enough, I'll try to get some video of the two of them.

Moe is such a pain in the rear end and I was shocked when she allowed Dale to nuzzle in there. She even moved around, very gingerly, and laid back on top of Dale and Dale loved it. Crazy animals. Did you hear the water in the background? That's from the filters of my two large fish tanks. I didn't realize it was that noticeable as we don't hear it at all - but I guess it's pretty loud. Heh

That parrotlet is the smallest parrot in the world. They are about 2.5-3 inches in length (10-14 cm). They are known are pocket parrots because they like to nestle into pockets or on your shoulder, under your hair (as long as you have longer hair. People who have them have been known to go to work with these guys and no one has known the parrot(s) were even there. LOL!
