I like everything that Thirty Five Thousand Bigots (I call them by a more accurate name) speaks out against. They're a bunch of ignorant morons. Some of the nicest kids I know live with two moms.

I guess people see what they want to see. I see 2 moms and a grandma. Don't care about sexual orientation. A mom is still a mom.

It looks nice, but I don't think that homosexuality should be encouraged.

It isn't being encouraged, it's being recognized, which is appropriate as it does exist. If you want to go through life wearing blinders, then put on the blinders. Don't expect the world to censor itself because of your delicate sensibilities.

Let's see if I have this right, it's Mother's Day. There is a pitcher of 3 women and two young girls, what is wrong with that? Would you like to see all men dressed up as women? I wouldn't.

It's obvious that as of now, 67% who voted yes are not Christians at all. Traitors & wolves that slap Christ right in His face & might as well tell Him to go to Hell for His un-politically correct view of the homosexual lifestyle..The deceived leading the deceived. The Way certainly is narrow as Jesus taught.

Oh my goodness, for all you know the women were meant to be sisters. It is implied that they are lesbians because they are near the same child, but never directly stated, so how can you even know? Should people of the same sex be required to keep a 5 inch distance from each other at all times before being photographed?

And if you had not heard that it was supposed to be a same-sex photo, would you have had the same rant about your religion? (I'm curious as to where 'judge not lest you be judged' went--if the path to Jesus is as narrow as you say, you might want to watch your balance there!)
  • dawn TheMadC... 2012/05/05 20:33:54
    dawn
TheMad--I see no rant. And I'm also very curious about where the rest of the Bible has went these days--such as "Outside are the dogs, those who pratice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, & everyone who loves & practices falsehood" (Revelation 22:15). Also the whole 1st chapter of Romans. People just pick & choose, who knows, by their standards maybe Christ didn't even die on a Roman cross & is not the Son of God. Also the "judge not" is well explained in Romans 2:1 & 2. The "judging" is based on hypocrisy--judging another for something one does themselves. Everything taken as a whole, & in context is always very helpful. I have no fear of being on the broad path to destruction, I'm not perfect, but I do pay heed to what Jesus has told me not to do. Either I believe Satan & do his evil deeds or I listen to Christ & follow His good ways. It's the way we have known from time began who are the good guys & who are the bad guys--by their deeds. If a Christian is cheating on their spouse then you can fairly say they are no Christian at all---same way with the homosexual lifestyle. One is an adulterer, the other sexually immoral. One can't go around living any ol' way &, honestly, call themselves a follower of Christ.

Aaaaah, but I realized Christianity is as imperfect as any human and left it years ago. I follow morality, rather than religion. The Bible does not apply to me or people like me. So, you twist the words of the Bible when you want to justify yourself. You're not perfect, and yet you judge, throw stones, and leave the beam in your eye while complaining about the motes of others. If you did not try to justify your thoughts with Christianity, that would be one thing.

Jesus practiced acceptance and love. It's a slap in his face to practice intolerance and bigotry.
  • dawn Willie 2012/05/05 20:37:01
    dawn
Willie--Who's not tolerant? Stating that a thing is wrong is not intolerance. Live & let live I say. But even God Himself will not allow the sexually immoral to be in Heaven or in His presence. In your book God must be a bigot & intolerant--take that up with Him, if you dare.

I read the bible carefully, and although I don't believe in it, the overall personality of the God it describes is one of compassion, love and forgiveness. I treat those books that describe the life of Jesus as the most representative of God's thoughts. After all, if you believe what's in the bible, you believe that Jesus IS God. Jesus never said a word against homosexuals. He spoke of compassion, love and forgiveness. His followers, however, are another thing. They seem to focus more on the words of Paul, who never even met Jesus. Odd, no?
  • dawn Willie 2012/05/05 20:56:16
    dawn
Willie--What I find very odd is that after all your "careful" reading of the Bible--is that you missed where Saul/Paul did meet Jesus, on the road to Damascus. And was taught in the desert by Jesus. And yes, Jesus is God, & God/Jesus has stated throughout His whole Word that the sexually immoral & homosexuality is a grave sin. Does He forgive these sins-yes He does. But to blatantly live these sexually impure lives, well like it says in Revelation 22:15--they will not enters Gods Kingdom. Jesus is so much more than the lovey dovey anything goes placid Jesus that people like to make Him out to be.

Paul did not meet Jesus. Not according to the Gospels, and not in the flesh. He claimed to have had a vision.

Revelation is not the word of Jesus.

Sorry. Jesus loved everyone. His followers, not so much.

JCP issued a statement two years ago. It was just trying to be PC & fit into the current climate that now exists. It was also under attack as were other companies by the ACLU & gay groups. Lawyers were ready to cash in.

If JCP did not give in it would suffer the same fate as Sears. Bankruptcy.

Condemns it for what? These women could be anyone. The two older ones holding hands could be sisters, the younger lady could be the daughter of one, and the two kids could be the grandkids. It's just a picture of mothers (grandmothers?) and children. I think people are reading WAY to much into this. Sheesh.

One Million Moms, huh? Well, JCPenney is going to have to pin their business hopes on the other 149million other moms, huh? Wow! that sounds tough.

As far as the photo is concerned, the woman on the left has very light hair that might be an older woman. It could be a mother, a daughter, and a granddaughter. If it hadn't been for Ellen's being the spokesperson, OMM would probably have never looked twice at the photo.

Or perhaps they would have. Those who are bound and determined to see evil in everything usually manage to find it. It's a shame they don't look inward....
