Our inhumanity to our animals is reflected in our inhumanity to man. If we love our animals we will love our fellow man. When we fail to love, we fail as a human and are not worthy of any consideration at all.

What wonderful people to hold vigil for a dying dog.
I have my Hy-Dee for almost 17 years. She was an absolute joy and a huge part of my life, to be a part of my kids lives. We held Hy-Dee as she took her last breath and said our good byes. It was a difficult day for my kids and for us.
And this wonderful tribute justifies why dogs (and cats) need love, need a home and need to touch our lives like we touch theirs.
Over the last 60+ years I've had probably 20-30 dogs and cats. The ones that stand out are the ones who lived the longest and with whom we sat when they breathed their last breaths. Queenie, a collie, was the first dog I can remember that we lost. She died at 14. Then Ruffus and Jake, both the same year at 12. Sunshine and Joe both died when they were 11. Then 8 years ago Apricot. We now have three beautiful border collies who are Art 5, Jeff 6 and China 7 plus Larry and Moe both 10.
Our pets are wrongly named as pets as they are really more our children but far more forgiving and loving of us when we share our love with them.
