I am writing this in response to Birthpangs question (He/She blocked me) I think it even more hypocritical to politicize someone belief in Christ and who they vote for. The Conservatives say they vote on principle. So what does Jesus say about people who don't seem to love others as they love themselves. Christ says if someone asks you for your shirt that you should give them your coat too. Conservatives want to take away welfare, medicare. Jesus said take care of the widow and the orphan. In essence Jesus was at odds with The Pharisee and Sadducee (religious and biblical scholars) Jesus also said You can only serve one GOD or Mammon (money) there is no straddling the fence. What say you?

I was not going to let your words of anger influence me. I can only help another Christian by referring to the Bible not by pointing the finger at him. Maybe because I don't mind part of my earnings going to these programs. Maybe I feel that is doing my part as a Christian. Maybe I believe in that part of the Constitution "Promote the general welfare. Providing for the welfare of the general public is a basic goal of government. The preamble to the U.S. Constitution cites promotion of the general welfare as a primary reason for the creation of the Constitution. Promotion of the general welfare is also a stated purpose in state constitutions and statutes. but I am asking you as a Christian, and please leave government out of it. What would Jesus do?

Therefore, we can conclude from this verse, if we don't pay taxes we are rebelling against the authorities established by God. This is not what I say. This is what the bible say. This is what I follow. Which do you follow?
