Talk about covering up in the sun.

British TV chef Nigella Lawson seemed playful as always as she splashed around at an Australian beach -- but for some reason, the sexy 51-year-old was wearing what appeared to be a burkini, the three-piece swimsuit designed to preserve the modesty of Muslim women.

wearing appeared burkini three-piece swimsuit designed preserve modesty muslim women

The star -- who is normally known for her revealing outfits -- even topped it off with a baseball cap beneath the hood.

According to The Daily Mail, the fair-skinned Lawson said she was just worried about getting a sunburn. Somehow we find that hard to believe...

I believe, long ago, I read that Nigella Lawson suffers from a sever case of photo sensitivity and the only way she can go outdoors, for any length of time without becoming ill, is to make certain she's fully covered.

    That sucks!

What is there to love about it? I would be miserable if I had to wear that to the hot beach!

I don't care what her rationale is, it looks silly to ware such a ridiculous thing as this to a beach, especially if you want to swim, it could cause her to drown. She probably didn't want to be recognized. That would be my answer.

Please tell me why any woman would support a political faction religion that treats women like property to do as they wish with them? There is no such thing as a peaceful Muslim. To be a true Muslim one must do whatever it takes to overthrow the infidels, even lies and deception, words taken from their own 'war' bible the Koran.

Yes, and to be a true Christian you must fight for Christian laws and work to overthrow the the infidel liberals and gays even if you have to lie about evolution, and science to do it! Radical religousness is all around us, and MUST be stopped! but first we really work on getting rid of our own lying ass, radical right wing, crazy, hatemongering "Christian's" and then maybe we can tackle "their" crazies.

We need to clean our own house first don't you think?

Do you have any Idea what the Christian faith is based on?

Yes actually, I do know a "bit" about the subject. Why do you ask?

The Christian "Religion" is pretty complicated subject, and It depends on which sect of Christianity you are talking about. Here is a Cliff's Notes version of my basic knowledge.

Christianity began as a Jewish sect and borrows from Judaism, which itself borrowed from earlier religious traditions, (such as the epic of Gilgamesh). Constantine makes Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire. The Roman church then starts adding in elements of paganism, anamism, sun worship, the whole pantheon of old Roman Gods got name changes, and become the "saints."

Religious traditions from ALL the lands the Roman church conquered were also incorporated in their haste to make converts (the old "convert or die" technique was not working too well), so Xmas, Easter, and many other NEW teachings were added. Christianity remained relatively stable and homogenous (sect free) for a couple of thousand years as the Papacy brutally crushed all discenting views with an iron rod applied by the kings they ruled over.

Then came the Protestant Reformation and new sects began to pop up like weeds again! In the late 1800's fudamentalist christianity gets it's start and again we see a split into many sects.

The Christian "faith" is based on faith in Christ and his attonement for our sins, not on any "religion". All "beleivers" are in fact saints, and living stones building up a new temple. It is a spiritual temple, not a physical one, and it is made of "living" (spiritual) stones. It is now under construction and has been since the time of Christ.

Christ condemned the religious leaders of his time and would surely condemn the religious leaders of ours. He even warned about the false teachings that would soon spring up, and in fact were already springing up in the early Church soon after his resurrection.

Christ was "anti-religious" yet he was the first born of the Spirit of God. Religion has little to do with faith, spirituality, or the Kindom of Heaven.

    Take care!

So Earl, How can I "try again" when you've block me? Hahahaha! Cute trick! So why don't you unblock me and YOU tell ME how it is then? Saying "Not even close, try again!" is no reply! I got the impression that you concider yourself a christian, but dishonesty is not very Christlike.

When you are ready for an intelligent discussion feel free to unblock me and lets talk. Making faces at me and blocking me makes me think that you cannot actually reply to anything that I posted!

My advice is that you first study the Bible and then study World History, Bible History, and Archaelogy as I have and we can talk more. Don't worry, I wont hold my breath! (GRIN)

Take care, and try picking on someone your own size next time!

Right on for the most part, all religions are bad, but I think it might be hard to clean our own house while dipsh*ts are flying planes into it. Christian fundamentalists = Bad, Muslim fundies = worse
  • Brian William... 2011/04/19 17:47:00 (edited)
    Brian
Fortunately, our Christian Fundies are constrained by our secular goverment, that is why so many of them are promoting an agenda to use "Christian Law" and "go back" (as they say) to the Christian "roots" of our country.

If we become a theocracy based on "fundamentalist christian" ideals, the christian religionists will give the Muslim extremists a run for their money. Remember the Inquisition? I rest my case. (grin)

    Take care!

i agree with everything up until "no such thing as peaceful muslim". islam is hardly a feminist religion, but i wouldnt say what you are saying- which is that basically all muslims are terrorists.
