That sucks!
We need to clean our own house first don't you think?
The Christian "Religion" is pretty complicated subject, and It depends on which sect of Christianity you are talking about. Here is a Cliff's Notes version of my basic knowledge.
Christianity began as a Jewish sect and borrows from Judaism, which itself borrowed from earlier religious traditions, (such as the epic of Gilgamesh). Constantine makes Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire. The Roman church then starts adding in elements of paganism, anamism, sun worship, the whole pantheon of old Roman Gods got name changes, and become the "saints."
Religious traditions from ALL the lands the Roman church conquered were also incorporated in their haste to make converts (the old "convert or die" technique was not working too well), so Xmas, Easter, and many other NEW teachings were added. Christianity remained relatively stable and homogenous (sect free) for a couple of thousand years as the Papacy brutally crushed all discenting views with an iron rod applied by the kings they ruled over.
Then came the Protestant Reformation and new sects began to pop up like weeds again! In the late 1800's fudamentalist christianity gets it's start and again we see a split into many sects.

The Christian "faith" is based on faith in Christ and his attonement for our sins, not on any "religion". All "beleivers" are in fact saints, and living stones building up a new temple. It is a spiritual temple, not a physical one, and it is made of "living" (spiritual) stones. It is now under construction and has been since the time of Christ.
Christ condemned the religious leaders of his time and would surely condemn the religious leaders of ours. He even warned about the false teachings that would soon spring up, and in fact were already springing up in the early Church soon after his resurrection.
Christ was "anti-religious" yet he was the first born of the Spirit of God. Religion has little to do with faith, spirituality, or the Kindom of Heaven.
Take care!
When you are ready for an intelligent discussion feel free to unblock me and lets talk. Making faces at me and blocking me makes me think that you cannot actually reply to anything that I posted!
My advice is that you first study the Bible and then study World History, Bible History, and Archaelogy as I have and we can talk more. Don't worry, I wont hold my breath! (GRIN)
Take care, and try picking on someone your own size next time!
Thanks again for the kind words. God Bless You.
If we become a theocracy based on "fundamentalist christian" ideals, the christian religionists will give the Muslim extremists a run for their money. Remember the Inquisition? I rest my case. (grin)
Take care!
