Nicole Richie Says 'Everybody Should Wear Headpieces': Are They Stylish or Stupid?

Nicole Richie is one of Hollywood's most imitated fashionistas, which is why it makes headlines when she declares that a new trend is in the works. "I think that everybody should wear headpieces!" Richie recently told InStyle. "If you’re spending a ton of money on shoes, then you should put just as much effort into dressing up your head."

The "Fashion Star" mentor is known for her ornate hair jewelry. "Pick the outfit first, then the headpiece," she advises. We're not so sure about wearing headpieces on a regular basis (or at all, for that matter), but Nicole does have some good fashion tips. "'I shop at more expensive stores and I also shop at thrift stores. Most of my vintage T-shirts and peasant dresses, they're like $10," she has said. She also told People: ''Fashion is a form of self-expression and it's really about how an article of clothing makes you feel." We couldn't agree more!

    They're quite stylish on the right woman. She wears them so effortlessly, and they fit well with her style. Me, well, they wouldn't look right with a Chanel suit.

    You're right ! I doubt the ones she wears are cheap. Most of us don't have that kind of money to spend on something as frivolous as a headpiece. I'd be happy if I was able to at least get some new clothes ! And if I did come into a large amount of money, it would be used for more practical things like a house, paying off debts, charity...you get my drift.

    No offense taken sweetie. But fashions are recycled and unless you've lived to see that you probably wouldn't notice. As you get older you will see what I mean. Fashions you wear now could come back into style say 20-30 years from now. Straight leg jeans were in for years and now you can get the bell bottom styles I wore in high school for instance.

    I like this idea. It's very Middle Eastern and Indian. It's pretty exotic and archaic. I wish to live hundreds of years in the past (if only it were possible).
