Breaking Bad is an awesome show! And I'm surprised how many ppl are saying "no", its just a candy! The chance of people becoming meth addicts themselves solely because its from a meth-related show is practically zero. There are much more devious things pumped into all sorts of consumer products these days, sometimes without ppl knowing.

Btw the article fails to mention that the candy meth is actually the prop meth in the show, as seen on The Candy Lady's website; "Several seasons ago The Candy Lady was approached to provide the show prop for Albuquerque's Hit TV Show "Breaking Bad.""

The stuff in the store may be just excess from what the show didnt use. Even if it isnt; its just candy. Is it so wrong to share it with ppl?

Yesterday I had two debates/arguments happening at the same time on two different survey threads. While the one guy was calling me a right wing nut job the other was calling me a communist progressive.
I try not to use derogatory names or titles, it just inflames the other person and all reason goes out the window.
Being a moderate who believes in free enterprise and also believes in the necessity of a social safety net, I tend to draw fire from extremists on both sides.

I can agree with that to a certain extent. I wouldn't agree with some extreme programs being on tv, porn for instance, things depicting very extreme amounts of violence. I just disagree that this particular series would meet the criteria that it needs to be censored - it's hardly the worst of what's on TV anymore. I also tend to be side against censoring anything if possible - people still have the voluntary choice to watch something or not. Like you've said - you stick with mostly news and history channel stuff - I don't even own a TV and watch what I do watch very sporadically on my computer.

Here is my exact statement: "The show and its entire premise is sick and socially corrosive. It should not be supported nor promoted."
Show me where I said it should be censored!. Support comes from sponsors, promotion comes from you. I never mentionede censorship.
    YOU IMAGINED THAT I DID,

    DEBATE ENDED.

Wanting support and funding for something to be stripped amounts to the same as censoring it. You've still as of yet to tell me how it's "sick and socially corrosive". I didn't imagine anything - perhaps we just have different ideas of what censorship is about. I don't view government censorship as the only type, cultural censorship can have just as much if not more impact. IE, various types of 'gothic' culture have been socially censored in the past - even leading to teen suicide and in at least one case the murder of a young woman.
Btw, typing in call caps just makes it seem like you've become emotional about the topic.
I'm still interested as to what is so socially corrosive about the show since you admit you've only seen one episode.

You have every right to your own opininion and your personal definition of censorship.
We do not agree and will not be reaching a meeting of minds on this issue.
So lets just drop it before either of us is tempted to devolve into using the kind of language that is so common and so useless, here on sodahead.
    Have a great weekend.

so is it candy in the shape of blue meth candy but it's really just candy, or blue meth in the form of candy but it's actually meth?

I'll sit out on this one, just to be safe :3

plus even If it's just candy I don't know anybody who even watches that show so they wouldn't get the reference if I offered them some.

Bad for good taste and morals. Even worse for your teeth.

Do the people marketing this candy have any idea what crystal meth does to people? How can they so flippantly sell anything associated with that?

I disagree. It was the best way to make a point, I didn't reply with it to every "No," just to those I saw appropriate, and the several replies of the "penis candy" post were not meant for everyone who visits the page, they were meant as a public reply for those specific individuals to make a statement and grab their attention.
Replying to one person wouldn't get more than that person and a few later people's attention, it wouldn't get the attention of others who had already voted and commented.

My replies weren't intended as "you're wrong, I'm right" statements, they're more so "the world isn't so black and white"

It doesn't seem to be a good idea to create a mock version of something there are people who have a serious addiction to real thing.

Only because I want to mock the people who get their panties in a twist over what should be a PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY issue. Case in point: Mountain Dew has been around for 40 years. Their original hillbilly white trash incestuous moonshiner theme didn't turn me into an alcoholic

When I lived in Oregon there was no getting away from the news of the horrible devastation crystal meth brought into people's lives. Looks like they've reined most of it in by putting Sudafed type cold remedies behind the counter.

No because if I really wanted some I could make it myself.

    1 Cup Distilled Water
1 1/2 Cup Light Corn Syrup
    4 Cups Sugar
    1/2 Tsp Cream of Tartar
8 Drops of Blue Food Coloring
1/8 Cup Blue Curacao (blue alcoholic beverage)
    Pinch of Chili Powder (optional)

There's a ton of recipes but I like this guys blog:
