Breaking Bad is an awesome show! And I'm surprised how many ppl are saying "no", its just a candy! The chance of people becoming meth addicts themselves solely because its from a meth-related show is practically zero. There are much more devious things pumped into all sorts of consumer products these days, sometimes without ppl knowing.

Btw the article fails to mention that the candy meth is actually the prop meth in the show, as seen on The Candy Lady's website; "Several seasons ago The Candy Lady was approached to provide the show prop for Albuquerque's Hit TV Show "Breaking Bad.""

The stuff in the store may be just excess from what the show didnt use. Even if it isnt; its just candy. Is it so wrong to share it with ppl?

I think this is a hilarious idea, and a decent way to express your fandom. However, I have enough random candy cluttering up the pantry, and all I really like to eat (sweets-wise) is crazy dark bitter chocolate. So I suppose this stuff, but not... you know. Monetarily.

Parents who take an active role in their kids lives and don't leave the 'media' or candy to do the influencing won't have a problem with this candy provoking teens to using meth. I think it just has a shock factor to it and sells.

Seems like a risky move, like candy cigarettes. If kids should try it they might think meth would be cool to try, and even teenagers can be easily influenced. Heck, this guy tempted me to chew tobacco and he doesn't even do it in real life. josey wales

I love the show, but even suggesting that kids or anybody else for that matter, try meth is very irresponsible. You would think the candy company would have more sense than that.

She sells boatloads of those. This is a specialty candy store that you hit prior to throwing a party of any sort. Bachelorette included. The Candy Lady has always been a bit edgy in the items they stock, but this blue meth thing is really in poor taste.

It's a specialty candy store selling a novelty product based on an extremely popular program. It's a business move, in my opinion a smart one at that when you consider the show's popularity and the fact that it's based in New Mexico, just like the store. It's being marketed towards fans of the show, and the show is marketed towards a mature audience.

I find it highly unlikely some kid is going to go in the store, buy some and say, "tastes like happy" and then wonder what the real stuff tastes like. The way drugs, especially meth, are demonized in modern society, anyone that ends up doing them was heading down the wrong path to begin with, some candy would have had no influence to that.

Look, I'm an entreprenuer and I understand the value of a gimmick. HOWEVER, you need to also understand that kids do indeed frequent this particular store and this is in poor taste, especially since one of the means of snagging young children on this crap has been to create crack in the form of stuff that looks and tastes like candy to sell on the playground.

The penis suckers are kept out of public sight, as she has enough of a reputation for selling them that people who want them know to go there and the 'goods' are kept in the back stock area.

This store is located in one of our most popular tourist shopping areas known as Old Town. Kids from all over see this store, not just locals. It's a crappy statement for Albuquerque.

Perhaps they aren't suggesting anyone try meth, perhaps they are suggesting - hey -that show that's really popular, we want to get in on that action so this candy that already existed will sell better in a new wrapper with a different name.

I don't think it was the candy companies intention for anybody to go out and try meth, that would be ridiculous. My point was that meth destroys more lives than any other drug in our country's history, so why glamorize it by making a sweet treat out of it. Besides that, you always hear about little kids eating something they're not supposed to. I was picturing mom or dad, all wasted on meth, leaving it out on the table, and then little Susie comes along and pops it in her mouth thinking it was that tasty candy she's had before. I know it might not happen, I just thought it was bad taste.
