Breaking Bad is an awesome show! And I'm surprised how many ppl are saying "no", its just a candy! The chance of people becoming meth addicts themselves solely because its from a meth-related show is practically zero. There are much more devious things pumped into all sorts of consumer products these days, sometimes without ppl knowing.

Btw the article fails to mention that the candy meth is actually the prop meth in the show, as seen on The Candy Lady's website; "Several seasons ago The Candy Lady was approached to provide the show prop for Albuquerque's Hit TV Show "Breaking Bad.""

The stuff in the store may be just excess from what the show didnt use. Even if it isnt; its just candy. Is it so wrong to share it with ppl?

Hey, don't call names. I'm not ultra conservative and still have concerns about potential negative outcomes. Funny idea for candy but...

Do you drive or travel anywhere in a car? Because the potential negative outcome of getting in a car is ASTRONOMICALLY higher than an adult (it's a mature show, so this will be marketed towards adults) buying blue rock candy and suddenly having a child see it, think meth is cool and then becoming a meth addict.

Or getting pulled over with a bag of it on the passenger seat by a dumb cop. believe it or not there are some cops that aren't very clever.

Really? A: Cops have drug testing kits in their crusiers and can determine if it's the real thing or not in just a few minutes. B: The cop who sees a bag of blue rock candy on the passenger/rear seat of your car and pulls you over for it is someone who has x-ray vision. C: If you're stupid enough to be breaking traffic laws with what appears to be drugs in your car, you deserve whatever punishment they can dish out.

They definitely are still sold in stores in America, but like THIS, it's marketed towards adults.

I honestly can't tell whether this is satirical or not. If yes, then bravo. If not, please don't live under the delusion that you're smarter than anyone else. "Lower intelligent individual"? A short smart person? Unless you meant someone who is "less than intelligent", in which case you should have written "lower intelligence individual".

Ok you want to play the dumb role, so be it friend.
My original statement was understood by 99% of people, that leaves the 1% of people that have no idea of how to interpert the human language, and that does not bother me in the slightest.

Zac, If kids are used to buying it from a grocery store, what would cause them to think the stuff on the street is harmful? Especially if you have a dealer pushing it for free to get them addicted. To increase their customer base, wouldn't they be devious enough to offer it as candy?
  • zac bhughes... 2012/08/23 18:40:26

Exactly. Do people who are voting no realize there's white rock candy out there that, to the uninitiated, might resemble crack? Do you HONESTLY THINK that white-colored rock candy being purchased by a child could be responsible in even one single crack-addicted person? And this candy will somehow inevitably result in a child thinking meth is cool and fun and will lead to a dangerous addiction? If so, it's time to get new parts for your head.

oh god. if your kids dont know candy from a store is not crack from a skinhead then your kids are already stuffed.

What if they are too enthusiastic with their toy cars? Road ragers bent on manic vehicular manslaughter? Ya.

I just taught a adolescent alcohol/drug class--the kids probably know more about drugs than you do. They are street smart.

Firstly, I wouldn't buy it because it sounds gross. Secondly, what the hell is the matter with this country making light of drugs? Even if you just support other people being able to smoke pot, it will affect your life, so don't act like it won't. And before all you "it's a harmless drug/I'm a highly efficient member of society who gets high all the time" people jump down my throat; just because you haven't had any bad effects from it, doesn't mean there aren't people it's very bad for, and will abuse it. Hence, why it's illegal in the first place. And all the idiots that say it will be helping the Mexican drug cartels by keeping pot illegal: it's not like they won't just start pushing more harmful drugs aggressively to make up for their income loss. God, people are so stupid.

As a kid my friends and I would love the candied cigarettes and out of all 5 of us in our neighborhood only I smoke cigarettes. And hey man why you hating on weed? This is about meth candy. And marijuana is actually illegal for no particular reason, some movie writer decided to make a film called reefer madness and ever since then it's been illegal and well all drugs and narcotics should be administered through professionals like the Swiss. It gets the dealers off the streets and addicts in safe havens to get what they're withdrawing from without needing money to do so, so there'd be less burglary theft prostitution and no minor can walk in there and say hey I'd like to try meth. All prohibition has done on all drugs is create more crime and give criminals more money. So thank you for fighting to keep drugs illegal for you do support the cartels. By the way it's just candy, the only kind if high you get is a sugar rush, calm down. Plus which sane parent allows their child to watch breaking bad anyways so basically it's like an inside joke between adults while the kid eats their candy.

Yep. Keep returning to the well for that particular brand of Kool-Aid. The only drug that I ever see being made light of is pot. Certain portions of it are looking to be made legal to carry in New York (not to use, but to carry), and several of the states in the union, even here in mega-conservative Arizona, have medical marijuana dispensaries. It's becoming the rule as opposed to the exception. But I hope that you're taking up the cause against alcohol too. So much more dangerous than any other drug.

Grrr. I've shopped at The Candy Lady's store in the past. This is the place to go for the crazy bachelorette party items as well as anything themed for a baby shower, Over the Hill party, etc. They've got delicious candy and a very good grasp of the artistic aspect.

But.....this is beyond poor taste. Very bad judgement!

I think that it is giving kids the idea that meth is ok and that it is just candy and it will not hurt you. They should not be selling candy like this.

I glad for you, but my opinion still stands, and I am intitled to my own opinion. I still say that it is wrong to promote such a candy. I know that noone or nothing can make you do something that you really dont want to do. And with that being said, it is in poor taste and choice to sell such a candy, that's my point.
