The U.S. Navy's new class of carriers will be the first to go without urinals, a decision made in part to give the service flexibility in accommodating female sailors, the Navy says.
The change heralded by the Gerald R. Ford class of carriers starting with the namesake carrier due in late 2015 is one of a number of new features meant to improve sailors' quality of life and reduce maintenance costs, Capt. Chris Meyer said Wednesday. Do you think the Navy is stronger by being "gender neutral"?
why are we changing something that already works well?
PS: Yes, I am a supporter of women in the army. I don't see the Israelis complaining.
Call me 'oldschool', but
women, in the military, does NOT
invoke a sign of strength, in my opinion...
They have no business being in 'battle' mode,
unless it's ABSOLUTELY necessary, and it's NOT !
I don't, and you can't / won't convince me otherwise, either, so please don't try...
Why not?
Period.
WTF has happened to my Navy?
'female sailors' - no freakin' such thing.
I fully recognize that Navy ships aren't the roomiest, but their reasons for this is disgusting.
Troop: Sir yes sir!
Reduce maintenance costs simple means this: Cut the number of bathrooms in half. It has nothing to do with the genders, only the money. Not sure how having them all pee in the same room regardless of gender IMPROVES quality of life.
