Depends on the state you live in and whether or not your neighbor has a Medical Marijuana card. Smoking Marijuana in public is no more illegal then taking a pill in public if you are licensed to do so. It is also illegal to ask that person if he/she in fact carry's a medical card for such.

I'd keep my nose in my own business and stop sniffing my neighbors. It's rude.

What is to be gained by calling CPS? They probably won't do anything. But if they did, what would they do? Put the kid in foster care? Do you really think that's better?

It's probably just a flavoured or home made cigarette. They smell diferently from regular cigs. Besides, a kid is way more likely to get sick with a cig smoker around than with a pot smoker around.

eeew. Taking the job a bit too far? Are we saying that the gentleman is smoking marihuana and that somehow makes him an unfit parent? And the evidence of abuse is what exactly?

Smoking a 'funny smelling' cigarette isn't child abuse so I'd do nothing at all, except maybe bring out the boom box and play some lawn-cutting-music for him to enjoy.

Since you don't know for sure what it is, don't do anything. If other problems develop you might have to call the police.

Yes, ruin lives !!! Always a great option ! Don't waste time with crap like facts or information, those just get in the way of your bigger agenda !! So what if the kids are well fed, clean, and never have any bruises or scrapes, and seem happy and healthy...anybody smoking, let alone smoking pot, must be the devil incarnate !!! What the hell are you still reading for ?? Call the FBI, CIA, COPS, AMERICAN IDOL, call every body !!!!

Live and let live. Not my business what they're doing as long as it's not hurting anyone else. His life, his business what he's smoking.

None of the above. I would simply keep an eye on the situation and whether his kids were okay. It's not the job of child protective services to monitor what people smoke.

Actually, I'm not undecided. I go over and chat with my neighbor, when I'm done I go home and feel relief that's he's not drunk.

If the children are happy and well-taken care of, you should leave your neighbors alone.

Since there was no option for mind your own business, I had to pick undecided. But my real answer would be to go back, inside your house and mind your own business. If you see your neighbor passing a joint to his 3 year old, then that would be worth your butting in.

I wouldnt do a thing as long as there arnt any children around and there wernt any past issues with them.I wouldnt be surprised if many of those who work for child protective services got stoned.I would just mind my own business, course thats easy for me to say since i dont work in that field.
