Neighbors with registered firearms?Gee I better be scared of that, what with all the criminals using non-registered firearms for all those break ins they commit. And robberies. And murders.I appreciate regulations being a fake blanket for reality.

Depends on the neighbor. If I'm friendly with the neighbor I'd feel safer. If my neighbor is a jerk or an idiot I'd feel a little afraid.

It does not bother me because I do not think about it. When you live in a small town pretty much everybody owns at least one. It is just a way of life in a small hick town.

Neighbors having guns? I do and I couldn't care less what they think, even if I tried really, really hard.

I own lets say a few guns hand and long rifle, and have been handling weapons for for about 58 of my 66 years and am very proficient with all of them that I own and a hell of of lot that I i don't During the time I was in the Corps I made sure that I leaned all of own weapons from hand guns all the way up to crew served to include Artillery and made sure my Young NCO's learned them also for a tank is just so much metal if the crew brought the farm and no one can fire it
And my neighbors are also well armed. no crime in this neighborhood.

Beside a Weapon never killed any one it takes A person to do that.

    Semper Fi

Oh and if it takes me to protect a neighbor the does not believe we should be armed I will my be he will wake up. and realize that an armed society is a polite society.

All US Citizen that are law abiding should have a weapon of choice, some a broom is all they can handle, some a mop and some a baseball bat and some a shotgun and some a 50 caliber, but then not for home defense, but a hostile take-over, yes! I prefer the swisher mop myself!

The average gun owner has little fire arms training and or critical situation training as they used to call it in the Academy. I think second amendment rights are great, but also their should be mandatory weapon training before they can take it home. I trained sailors in the Navy as I was a Gunner's Mate, on the use of Small arms mostly Military 45 caliber Automatics and even sailors that have been through basic training were pretty sad unless they used the weapon and trained on it annually. I have had plenty of them point it at me loaded and it is and uncomfortable feeling. So having joe six pack at home with a weapon may be ok but give me a chance to duck

Like I must be living in the twilight zone. People where I live are deathly afraid of guns as far as I know. They freak out at the mere suggestion of self defense. "Oh no! That is what police are for!" Yeah, right. Police are for filling out the report of your unfortunate demise.

Yes, I especially enjoy that last reason for the Second Amendment (Actually the main reason for it). Why else would they be so "diligent" about "common sense" gun control---and more and, more , and more....

  • Willy sammanilla 2012/04/23 20:11:37

The neighbor must be a liberal, not believing in guns, so they may not realize anything, because there is a good chance, they could be dead, or being a liberal, they may just be too stupid to know they are stupid.

Safe. They have been my neighbors for more than 10 years. The guns are kept in a safe and they would only use them in self defense or to the defense of one of their neighbors. We have each others backs and watch out for each others children.

Gun sales have gone up LEGALLY. Every neighborhood I've ever lived in was safe. All of which have had members of the military or retired who happened to own guns.

Cars are more dangerous. Criminals are more dangerous.
