One of the sheer joys I have while travelling is taking the time to find, explore, and discover some true GEMS of Museums no matter where I am at ..
One of these /joys/ (that I want to share here on SH) is the National Museum of Naval Aviation (Pensacola, FL) .. located right on the Naval Station.
With collections of Various Aircraft (from the earliest to Spacecraft too!) .. with dioramas, informative (and FREE!) walking Tours of the Facilities .. a Flight Line Bus tour of the Outdoor exhibitions, and an I-Max Theater (the shows do cost a minimal amount .. but still .. this is Cheaper than going to a Regular Theater!)
The now TWO massive Indoor Exhibition spaces (Main and Annex) ..
the Cubi Cafe (which, incidentally, actually contains squadron and unit plaques reassembled from the historic Officers' Club at Cubi Point in the Philippines)
THIS particular GEM is an Experience to remember (and need we forget .. ADMISSION is FREE!)
(and wonderful to share with even your toddlers/children .. let them enjoy the day with a Digital Camera in hand .. its FASCINATING to see what they /see/ and learn!)
