The study leader from NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, James Hansen, as well as researchers Makiko Sato and Reto Ruedy, have concluded that U.S. summer heat waves (mainly in the Midwest) "have become the norm over the last 30 years compared to a base period 30 years before 1980 -- and it's because of global warming." Do you agree with NASA? You can read more about the study by clicking the 'DAILYTECH.COM' link below.

DAILYTECH.COM reports:
Hotter summers have become the norm from 1980 to present compared to 1951 to 1980 (the base period)
reports hotter summers norm 1980 compared 1951 1980 base period

The same cycle of heating and cooling the planet has gone through for years.

Your comparing two 30 year periods. It's the same moronic crap as local weather people calling 105 degree the hottest day ever in Georgia, yet when I was a kid I remember it hitting at least that much. Anyone that has lived her long enough remembers it.

Yet all the same they play on the hope that you have a short term memory.

No it's not moronic crap. Just because you see the stupidity in your area, the climate, and the effects of it in your area, that doesn't make it universal. There has been several changes in th polar ice caps that don't normally happen. If you were there and did research on them you wouldn't be saying this. Deforestations, chemical fertilizers, massive crop failures, extinctions, and most importantly Carbon Dioxide emissions; all PROOF of global warming.

NASA must be wrong then about global warming, those nuckleheads. I'd put much more faith in someone who says what they remember what the climate was when they were a kid because thats waay more scientific and believable than some scientists that can put someone in space.

That's exactly right. History is merely repeating itself. Intense, extended heatwaves existed in Biblical times, and there are stories and songs about them from the 1800's.

it's like when they trace a wildfire back to a person who threw a lit cigarette or had a campfire in the middle of a fire ban because of the long, dry spell. how ridiculous? forest fires have been happening for a long time before people.
NO!!!! That makes too much sense. That is exactly what is happening. Humans are exacerbating the cycle. Wake up MOSTLY white people!!!! You are the best at denial! White people are MASTERs of DENIAL!!! You make me sick!

So, 50 years of industrial pollutants being pumped into the land, the sea and the air, at an exponential rate, has nothing to do with anything?

Do you really think the business leaders care more about the environment more than they do about money?

Don't you think we could all be a bit more intelligent about our waste?

i think he was in a struggle in his campaign and he made it up to get more voters. look at how many raves on my comment compared to yours. then again it's a theory. fox news even managed to state (based of a study on the equator) that the scientists involved with global warming have not been checking the eqautor and the equator has been increasing temps over centuries.

How could Al Gore have made up global warming to get more voters when global warming was around before that?

I'm sure you don't want to think of yourself as some sort of crazed conspiracy theorist, but thats what you're making yourself out to be...
The fact is, what you're saying does not make sense. Period.
Al Gore did not make up global warming to get more voters, global warming theories were around BEFORE Al Gore.

Is Al Gore a time traveler? Or maybe he saw into the future, saw that he would be doing badly in the election (which he actually wasn't) and then decided, "Alright, i'm going to make up global warming so that in the future I can make a film about it and get more voters!"

"cause he FREAKING MADE IT UP!"

    History of climate change science

Climate change scientific consensus begins development, 1980-1988

James Hansen during his 1988 testimony to Congress, which alerted the public to the dangers of global warming.

By the early 1980s, the slight cooling trend from 1945-1975 had stopped. Aerosol pollution had decreased in many areas due to environmental legislation and changes in fuel use, and it became clear that the cooling effect from aerosols was not going to increase substantially while carbon dioxide levels were progressively increasing.

In 1985 a joint UNEP/WMO/ICSU Conference on the "Assessment of the Role of Carbon Dioxide and Other Greenhouse Gases in Climate Variations and Associated Impacts" assessed the role of carbon dioxide and aerosols in the atmosphere, and concluded that greenhouse gases "are expected" to cause significant warming in the next century and that some warming is inevitable. In June 1988, James E. Hansen made one of the first assessments that human-caused warming had already measurably affected global climate.
