i have been sleeping on the couch since i was a small child that sprang from holding my grandmothers big toe as comfort at bedtime -strange i know but i was young. and it progressed into teen-hood. i had my own bedroom and was an only child but for some reason i cant seem to shake it im now 24 years old and still prefer to sleep on the couch. and still today i have my own bedroom that's not father than maybe ten feet but i feel more comfortable on the couch than in a bed the only time i felt comfortable in a bed was a twin bed that was covered in stuffed animals along the back side. creating a couch like fell

Ok, I'm realy not sure because my mom is asleep on the toilet right now. My mom sleeps on the couch when she has a BEDROOM right next to her, but the thing is, my mom only falls asleep on the toilet when whe is drinking...... as far as I know.......... but when whe falls asleep she could sleep ass night on the toilet. Like last night for example, she was sleeping on the toilet for 2 houres so idk whats up with that..... should I wake her up or what? -XxLigetWafelxX

My mother has been sleeping on the couch for almost 6months now. We only have one television, in the living room which has now become HER room. She falls asleep at 8pm and up at 4am...Its more than an inconvinence on my behalf but rather an ANNOYANCE. FYI- she snores, so there is no turning the t.v up to drown out her...DROWNING.lmfao...

O I know right, my mom's room is the living room for as long as I can remember. It dosent matter if we move or if her room is clean, she just sleeps on the couch and she SNORES like a MO-FO...... and her room is like 5 feet away and she has a job and is constantly walking around but is still sleeping on the couch...... she will wake up in the middle of the night and walks right by her room to use the bathroom and most likley falls aslee on the toilet. but if not she walks back past the bathroom and falls asleep on the couch. Thanks for reading, this is XxLigetWaflexX Peace

If she is more comfortable on the couch, let her sleep there. No big deal.

A lot of times I fall asleep easier there, if I get up to go to bed I will know I'm trying to sleep and the pressure keeps me up. (Just a guess) I have to fool myself that I am only setting my book down for a minute...

But she may want to still go to a sleep doctor to check for sleep apnea or something that is keeping her from getting a fulfilling nights sleep if it a staying awake issue on the couch.
My mother in law used to fall asleep on the couch all the time, and could not stay awake for a movie. She was told to have sleep apnea, and is not much better. She still sleeps on the couch, but only when she wants :)

I regularly fall asleep on the couch. I just get relaxed and lean back. If I close my eyes, I'm out. When the TV goes off, it wakes me up, and I go into my bedroom. No big deal.

I do it all the time. I'm a night owl and I love watching t.v. really late and I always fall asleep and when I wake up I'm just to lazy to get up and go upstairs to bed so I stay on the couch.

Careful there. I knew a guy who fell asleep at his desk, fell out of his chair and broke his arm. Babies bounce, big people thump. lol

I think almost everyone gets the best ever sleep on the couch! It's that unexpected nap that you didn't plan to take. It's great.

I do it all the time too. Sometimes I watch TV cuddled up in a blanket and it's so nice and warm I just don't want to get up and travel through the cold house to go to bed.

I am quite sure alot of people do. It is so bad for your back though. Tell her to figure out what time she usually falls asleep on the couch and then go to bed 10-15 minutes before that time.
