I give thanks for what I have & for answered prayers.
At work - a marketing job that requires me to talk to everyone that I can. Whenever possible I give a nice compliment - awesome hair, item of clothing, cute or well behaved kids, very young looking or awesome skin, gorgeous eyes - makes people feel good to recieve a big smile and have something nice said about them and TO them. I don't say it until after our conversation about my marketing product is finished and they've given me their "interested or not interested" answer so that they know I'm sincere and not just saying it to get them to sign up with me. People need more "feel good" and less "hate or criticism" from strangers. After I walk away, then glance back later I can see that it's brightened their day for them by the look on their face. I don't say it so they'll love or like me, I say it so they'll love themselves or feel cheered up. It helps me too cuz if I'm not having a very good or successful day it also cheers me up by making their day happier.
