My granddaughter (22) is getting married. She would like to make some nice dinners and other things for her new husband. Do you have any “family” recipes that you would like to share with her. Anything from soups to full dinners. Thanks much.

4 chicken breasts, skinless & washed

2-3 c. Rice Krispy cereal, crushed (more, if required)

1/2-1 stick butter or 3/4 stick butter, melted

Dip chicken in melted butter then roll in Rice Krispy cereal. Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and place chicken on a few inches apart. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Do not turn chicken!

This is the one I use and my family likes but it's an online recipe and I add in some spices and herbs to the Rice Krispies when I make it. That is going to vary based on your family and their personal tastes.. another thing you can do is use garlic butter instead of regular butter.

Pot Roast in a slower cooker.

Salt and pepper the pot roast. Braise roast in a skillet to brown the outside in extra virgin olive oil. (this seals the juices and flavor in)

    mince 2 cloves of garlic
Roughly cut in large chunks sweet onion, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and carrots. Add red potatoes either whole or cut in half.

Use half of the of onion, and bell peppers and garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker to form a bed then lay the roast on top of it. Put the rest of the onion and bell peppers and minced garlic on top. Place carrots and potatoes around the roast. Add 2 cups of beef broth. Turn slow cooker to high for one hour then low for 5-6 hours.

The bell peppers give the roast a nice zing but it's not spicy hot.. The reds give it a sweetness while the greens give it a nice flavor.. Even my 2 year old who hates veggies eats the veggies when I cook this..

My church just compiled a cookbook of our own home recipes. They came from the printer last week and they sell for $13. No profit is being made on them. If you're interested email stpeteswm@gmail.com

    Fried Chicken

    3 eggs.
    1/3 cup of water.
1 cup of Ancho chili powder.
2 cups of crushed Reese Homestyle Garlic Butter Croûtons.
    1 tea spoon of pepper.
1(1 to 2 1/2-pound) chicken, cut into pieces.
    Peanut Oil.
In a medium size bowl, beat the eggs with the water. Add enough chili powder so the egg mixture is bright orange. In another bowl, combine the crushed croûtons and pepper. Dip the seasoned chicken in the egg, and then coat well in the mixture.
Heat the oil to 350 degrees F in a deep pot. Do not fill the pot more than 1/2 full with oil.
Fry the chicken in the oil until brown and crisp. Dark meat takes longer then white meat. It should take dark meat about 13 to 14 minutes, white meat around 8 to 10 minutes.

I'd recommend the SH group, Recipe Swap. There are a lot of great recipes on there. Here's a link. I don't think you need an invitation to join, but I can invite you, if you do. http://www.sodahead.com/livin...

    tortellini al forno

    12 oz frozen tortellini
1 oz prosciutto cut into matchsticks or cooked Italian sausage sliced into ½ inch pieces (or bacon)
    2 cups marinara sauce
    1/2 cup cream
    1/4 cup Parmesan
    2 tbsp fresh basil shredded
    Sliced mozzarella

    Putting it Together
    1. Cook the tortellini in simmering salted water until they lose their raw dough flavor.
    2. In a 3 quart heavy bottomed pot, crisp the prosciutto (or bacon) without adding any oil.
    3. Add the marinara sauce and the cream; heat gently for 5 minutes.
    4. Add the cooked tortellini; stir in the cheese and the basil. Pour this mixture into an ovenproof dish.
    5. Cover with the sliced mozzarella and bake in a 350-degree oven until bubbly.
    6. Eat
