My 94 year old neighbour died last night, he and his wife (who is still alive), were married for 68 years, isn't that just amazing?

I know it's not a question as such, but they were still so happy, fantastic neighbours, I will miss him so much, he always waved out the window every night as I walked my dogs past their house. God Bless Robin.... a life well lived, now in Glory.

I'm sorry, for the loss of your friend and neighbor. It is pretty amazing, for a couple to be married and together for 68yrs, for sure. He sounds like a wonderful man, and I hope his wife has people who will care about her well-being; has to be really hard, for her.

He was a great man, and there are alot of family around as well as neighbours and friends, she said to day that it really hasn't sunk in yet that he is gone.

That is only amazing in our society as it is today. Marry and get a divorce 60 days later. Live together for 5 years, marry and divorce 6 months later. Marriages were made to last and these people did what they promised 68 years ago. The reason you will miss him, and that he waved every night is the same reason he stayed married all these years.

My first wife threw me out after 9 years. We were both at fault, except she would not talk to me about how she felt.

I am married a second time now for 37 years. We talk, we fight, and we go on. I hope we both live long enough to make it to 50 years.

Yes DD you are right, they have had alot of heartache in their lives, and their son died 3 yeas ago aged 60, but they stuck with each other through thick and thin, as for you 37 years is a big success story to and I hope you make beyond the 50 my friend.x

Might be me someday, you never know... I am not there yet, but with each passing birthday, getting closer and closer; maybe the Lord will come back and take us before we retire our birthday suit, you never know! You are welcome dear..

Yes we will do, she is very much loved by us, she is the last one alive from all her siblings, cousins on her own side and now also on her husbands side to.

Thanks Marci, his mind was still really sharp, he used to tell us stories about WW2 and what it was like where we live, we have a small air field behind our house and during the war polish soldiers learned how to fly there, one actually crashed in Robin's field, he ran to try and help, but the poor guy was already dead, he had so many stories, I will miss him so much.x
