Women tend to get less sleep because they have more to do in most homes.

Depends on what I have planned that day. I am not going to say I have insomnia, but it is very difficult for me to sleep. I stay up late and usually have to wake up relatively early, so it's never enough.

Sadly as a teacher, I'm technically employed by the local council (and forced to use their network at work), who put a block on pretty much everything other than BBC news and Jamie Oliver's website... :(

Sadly. About 6 hours a night would be ideal but what are you gonna do? I don't know how anybody can sleep more than 8 hours in a day. Your life must be flying by.

It depends on what you do during the day, if you sit and read the book all day long then maybe 4 hrs will be enough

I've always lived an active lifestyle but now I probably burn between 4000 and 6000 calories a day just at work them come home to a 4 year old I have to entertain, bathe and put to bed with a book or 2. Ironically I was always a lot more tired when I sat behind a desk all day or watched football all day before parenthood.

Sitting at a desk here at work KILLS me.

I liked it better when I worked out back as a mount and balance tech. HATE being on the desk.

I hear ya. I think everyone goes through that at some point. Excercisize helps out tremendously. It reloads all those little hormones that circulate and produce tryptophan.

I have a kid to take care of, so, I have no choice but to be up early to see after her, then up late dealing with laundry and tidying and such.

I used to think i had to have at least 12 hours of sleep before I could do anything. Now I know I only sleep a lot because I'm depressed half the time, and sometimes I only sleep 3 or 4 hours if I'm manic. I can even go for days without sleep sometimes. But i find i generally sleep at least more than 8 hours- at the very least 9 or 10. I love to sleep, so when my head lets me, I sleep as long as I can. I screwed my normal schedule all up when I was doing a lot of drugs, too. These days I'm on a bit more normal schedule, but like I said, I do have manic depression (aka bi-polar disorder). paintings of a sleeping woman on a couch

Your not alone, I have a friend like that, he can sometimes only get 5 or 10 min in a 24hr, cycle. Goes like that for days then he crashes and burns, best of luck.

Anything from 10-14 hours a night, I usually stay awake until about 5am and sleep until 4 or 5 pm the next day.
I work at night, which is lucky as I started leaning towards this sleeping pattern since I was 6 (always late for school)...
