I'm not a doctor, but I suggest you replace your caffeine fix with fruits or other things that give natural energy. Eat a banana in the morning instead of downing coffee or whatever is your drink of choice. You won't get the energy rush, but you won't have to avoid the inevitable crash. Just one, consistent flow of energy.
... Also just realized your name was Herb... Funny coincidence, eh?
When i boot the kids out I may try one of these sleep cycles. But now during the week (my nights off work) i get 8+ hours of sleep. Weekend work hours are closer to 5.
