Military or NON- military, or business people... should parents that are separated or divorced call their children once a week at least when possible? (or more?) you decide.

I think calling once a week tells your kids that you care and are thinking about them.

yeppers, when I was divorced I kept in contact, even bought a fax machine to help them with homework...now I've got custody and the ex calls at least a couple times each week...kids need to know they can reach either parent....even if it's just for homework!! LOL

If the parents are on good terms and the parent that isn't around wants to be apart of their kids life should try to be around as much as possible even if it is by phone.. My parents aren't separated or divorced but when my dad was deployed ( he was army ) he would call every time he got a chance he would talk to each of us kids for a few minutes and then talked to mom for the rest of the time that he had.
