Michelle Obama wore an exquisite J. Mendel cap sleeve jacket to the London Olympics reception -- and there's no denying it's gorgeous -- but there is some controversy over the price: $6,800. Check out the dud... and the critical reactions in the video below!

It almost seems like the First Lady can't win because she has also been criticized for wearing "cheap" clothing, but that seems to be the status quo for females in the political world. When you see the First Lady (any First Lady) wearing expensive clothes like this, does it seem like she's flaunting her wealth like some claim. Does it offend you? Or does it go with the territory of being married to the President of the United States?

Are those really our only choices? I consider that 1% cliche to be fraudulent, but I would like to retain the opportunity to become what Obama is trying to vilify, successful, independent, and comfortable. BTW , the Bush argument is also a fraud since the guy is out, but much of what I didn't like about him is being done but even more so by Obama.

People who have the money to wear expensive clothing don't offend me in the least. Why should it? If you can afford to dress in style, then go for it! Of all the faults I see in Sarah Palin, one good thing I can say about her is that her professional attire was outstanding. She'd go up on those podiums and say the stupidest things to rile the most provincial and ignorant %'s of her base, but boy did she look good doing it!

Not for the fact that she has money, I would applaud her for that. It is that she is not using her money, but ours is what I have a problem with. Air Force One, exotic vacations, all on our tax dollars offends me to no end!

Every first lady has had access to Air Force One do you have a problem with it because she is african american? You think she should fly American Airlines and shut down all flights leaving out of every major port in the United States because the first lady would be flying a commercial airline. You are not a very bright individual.

I have a problem with it because she is not using it for campaigning or service projects like the other first ladies, I have a problem because it was used for vacation and frivolity. The people that make this about Race are more racists than who they accuse! I don't care if the woman's, man's skin color was pink with polka dots, he and his wife have spent tax payer money frivilously on their own pleasure or for their "protection" overseas with more military support than most dictators. Tell me one other president or first lady that has acted like this after calling other people out for using their money when she is using ours fr their own selfish purposes?! I'll answer it for you--none!

Intestingly, when her husband was running for office she was very proud of the fact that her outfit came from J. Crew (affordable clothing store in many local malls). Guess she has to dress the part being the first lady. It's fine with me as long as she's footing the bill.

It was a tasteful outfit, not flashy, not ridiculous, tasteful. Expensive? Maybe, but does she have to dress from Salvation Army racks? iI you are wealthy and have shoppers who do the buying and selections for her, it is only proper for her to wear nice and good stuff.

PS, I am NOT a fan of the current administration but some folks are just out to jab any person they can get ahold of.

Actually, the Marines killed Bin Laden and the manhunt for him started under Bush... Obama cut my Social security (only income) raises for 2 years... he is determined to take this country down... he is cuting our military benefits, he is shrinking our military... when we need it most... he totally disgusts me when he goes overseas and bows to an apoligizes to everyone for America... personaly I hope our military rises up and throws his butt out of the country, back to Kenya or where ever he came from... talk about illegal aliens... and yes I listen to FOX news as they are the closest thing to the truth which you seem to want to close your eyes to... and no I do not listen to Rush... but maybe both of us should... Most state have county hospitals that will take all patients you need to speak with a health care manager in your town. Everyone blame Obama for their problems he is not the reason that the republicans voted against medicare for senior check to see who your representative is from your state and see how he voted.
