I don't know about cute - Chivalrous, Gentlemanly, A nice thing to do.
I'm 23, almost 24 years old. I was brought up to be kind and helpful for people - male or female, young or old - including holding doors. The car door doesn't happen often because they usually get to the door before I do.
The problem is that you don't know what's going to happen. I'll use opening regular doors as an example.
Men - generally say "thank you" and walk in. Never had one complain.
Women - Never know. Sometimes they accept the gesture as what it is - being nice - say "thank you" and walk in. Other times they get offended and start in on the "I can open my own door!" type of thing.
Feminists turned an issue of kindness and chivalry into equality. I still hold the door, and I've had older women say things like "Who says chivalry isn't dead?" when I do. I've also nearly had my head taken off by a banshee woman who thought I was making a statement on gender roles. I considered letting the door slam in her face, but I chose to continue holding it.
Holding the door - for ANYONE - is a nice thing to do. Period.

Cute

I think a Man should Always be a Gentleman, Respectful and Courtious, at all times...
Holding doors open, seating her at a table, standing up when she leaves or returns to a table, holding her coat or wrap for her as she puts it on, placing her out away from the traffic along a sidewalk or cross walk, etc...
Ma HUBBA ALWAYS DOES IT--NOT ONLY for ME but for EVERYONE--
IT SHOWS-CARE-KINDNESS-WELL MANNER-LOVING-RESPECT--
PEOPLE APPRECIATE IT, THANK HIM & REGARD HIM WITH RESPECT, and
I AM VERY PROUD of HIM!!!
I'VE $0.00 USD, 0.00 EURO, 0.00 YUAN, homeless. SO, don't think about SUING ME!
where's the OLD Courtesies?
Would be nice to see the return of some of these old courtesies .. signs of respect ..
for when PARENTS .. real PARENTS ..
show their children (with their actions)
COURTESY .. RESPECT for others ..
they learn that we walk the talk ..
mean what we say ..
and these OLD Courtesies are passed along ..
into new generations
Common Courtesy.
