Men and Women Gossip Differently, Study Finds: Do You Gossip?

I'm sure everyone does, some do more than others and some do in different ways but i think it's natural it lets steam out.

i feel that if you don't want people to talk about you then don't give them anything to talk about

Yes i do and it helps to know current News am not aware of but everyone gets update of any News from gossip.

I don't gossip often, because I am a private person and prefer to allow others their privacy. But I'm like everyone else, I can't say I don't do it. I probably should have chosen "sometimes" instead of "yes", but you can't undo your vote. :P

I gossip sometimes but not about who's dating who, that is just ridiculous.

Its pretty much a waist of time. And its meaningless. And its BORING!!!! One of the reasons why I mostly hang out with boys instead. At least when they do it its interesting and funny. (^ - ^)

No not all women gossip, since I can remember, I never had the need to gossip or spread gossip. Gossip is usually an assumption started by one (as the top opinion lady put it one with a small mind) In women it is usually jealousy, that rears its ugly head gossiping with intent to slander another.

I don't agree with the write up on this subject. As I know men gossip somewhat the same..based from personal insecurity within themselves (an ego thing) to make them feel like one of the boys. uggggggggggggggg how revolting and ignorant- (men and women that gossip) I say to all you women and men who like to spread gossip-Whether it be intent to destroy another for something they have done, or intent to simply slander another..get a grip.

Slander is against the law! And all gossip always start or soon leads to slander.
Deal with your lack of confidence in yourself! Hey Teacher.........Leaves those kids alone!

But I always feel bad afterwards. Gossip, to me, can be harmful if it is false, or exaggerated.

i hardly ever talk about someones appearance. i will talk about their behavior however. especially bad behavior that annoys me more than anything about co workers. how they behave and interact with someone. some coworkers have a bad attitude and i will vent with someone about it sometimes.

But, let's not talk here.........we can talk later when 'certain' people aren't around to overhear us....OK?

lol but i don't gossip about other women i usually gossip about the family.

I perform activities that may be regarded as gossip by accurately answering just about any question posed to me. (Assuming i consider the question appropriate.)

I'm not sure about gossiping being insecure about oneself. I sometimes think that some people like spreading juicy news. The problem are also the people who give a lending ear to gossip.

There are so many different forms of gossip. Vicious gossip (stories about someone that isn't true) is totally wrong.

However, casual gossip is like, "Hey, did you hear about Nancy Sue? She slipped down her stairs because she got drunk last night!" Now, if that is the truth, then all that person is doing is being a newsreporter.

So tell me smokey what kind of Gossip is good? it all comes out in the end...someone getting hurt whether it is a reporter.....or or whomever..Gossip comes from the mouth of vindictive people. (Heres one ..for ya, if they gossiping to you about someone else, the next moment they gossiping about you to that someone else)

pretty much common sense what gossip is! Only the self loathing persons will participate and spread gossip maybe true or not true at all..I say to all gossipers get a fu***** Life. And Remember Slander is a crime...

I bet all you gossipers' are right into celebrity gossip too, I don't even pay attention. Imagine the bull they live under invading their personal lives and so forth. In alot of cases can be very harmful. (gossipers need to start gossiping about themselves maybe they might just learn something!)

I don't know about you, but when I was young, I was a victim of someone spreading gossip. Some of it were true... but I didn't sleep with my best friends sister!!!! :) lol lol

Not very often, though. I prefer news straight from whoever is involved in the news.

I don't know if you call "Telling someone else great news about someone else" gossiping, but if so, I do quite the gossiping.
