McDonald's knows its customers and adapts to its consumption desires. McDonald's will open vegetarian restaurants in India to cater to the non-meat-eating population. Would you eat at a vegetarian-only fast food restaurant if McDonald's opened one near you?

I agree. Having more choice and options for vegetarian fare would be great providing that it is not some kind of genetically altered Frankenfood.

My brother has worked at McDonald's. Their way of cooking the food is gross.

EW! God put animals here for us to eat and I don't intend to disappoint Him. :)

God won't mind if you don't kill an animal and eat it- He probably wouldn't mind if all of the grain and water used to support factory farming were given to starving human beings either.

Maybe, maybe not. I don't feel it is my Christian obligation to eat animals. Please understand I'm not that nutty. But I am not ashamed or upset about eating animals that ARE here for my benefit. I don't believe in cruelty in raising or slaughtering them. I don't believe in rituals, either. I won't answer the charge about starving people, because my eating animals and them eating grain doesn't have ANYTHING to do with why those people are starving. Look to their own governments and ours for blame on that one. But this isn't the place for that discussion.

... Seriously? How do you know we weren't put on earth to eat each other or/and just plants. xD

Well, I do know the scriptures say they are here for us to eat sparingly. We should eat more plants and grains. As for eating people, again, that's not a topic for this thread, but I'm not opposed to it in extreme circumstances. If my best friend died and I could eat him or die, he would be PISSED if I chose death!! We've actually had this discussion, so I'm not talking out of my butt on this one. But as a rule, no, no people. :)

I can respect that. If you were my friend, I would invite you to dinner and try to impress you with my meatless recipes! xD I just personally would eat a chicken leg or steak without any moral compunction. :)

Well said! Delicious animals were put on this planet for the purpose of stimulating our tastebuds, making fur coats, and things like that.

Thanks! I am not a person who likes real fur, but I do wear synthetic. I love leather, tho! ;) In the end, what I really care about is that when these animals are slaughtered, the less waste the better. No cruelty, either. Use it all, make clothes, tools, food, animal food, whatever. Just don't waste. And eating meat is natural and healthy. I know true vegans and they are not as healthy by ANY stretch as those who eat even fish on a regular basis. Sorry, can't make me believe a vegan lifestyle is the best.

Not in this lifetime or the next and so on.Whether you are a creationist, an evolutionist or any other ist, mankind's teeth are designed for eating meat. The canine and front teeth are for tearing the meat apart and the molars for crushing and grinding.

I would try a McVeggie but I doubt it'll be any better than their low-quality meat burgers. That being said, this is a great idea for the Indian population! MickeyD's in India often serve chicken and lamb, but this could reach the total-vegetarians out there as well.

If McDonald's were to open an all vegetarian restaurant, that would be a waste of time and money. Here is what they can do: add a vegetarian burger in their menu along with their regular burgers and McChicken sandwiches.

In India, which is where they plan to open the veg restaurant, regular burgers would NOT sell at all. Talk about a waste of time and money.

Yeah, Asia is known for their strict dieting meals. Maybe that is why they stay thin and us Americans are called fat.
