Even though I'm a vegetarian, no I wouldn't. I'd want to be starving with nothing else nearby to eat at McDonalds.

McDonald's food is man made, refined, processed, food stuff, that like tobacco, should come with a health advisory warning. And for those who are against microwave foods, like myself, McDonald's heats food in the microwave. Beware! and find out for yourself.

I wouldn't touch any of the slop this outfit churns out, veggie or otherwise. This crap doesn't even resemble real food and isn't fit to eat.

I've been vegetarian for ages and it pisses me off when there are no places in town where I can just pick up something to eat quickly because nowhere offers vegetarian stuff-takeout places need some vegetarian options other than a freaking salad ok.

I'd try and avoid maccas but since everything here closes early it might be my only choice. I'd like the option.

Can't be any worse than the grilled excrement-laden offal they serve already. Most burgers in India are made with lamb (would enjoy that!) since they're a tad sensitive about "Holy Cows". A semi-meat version may entice some carnivorous palates too.

I don't promise to like it, but I might go there. After all, my favorite menu item is fries, which (I think) are vegan.

Been reported that some Rotten Ronnie's franchises (corporate?) have been 'spiking' the deep fryer with suet &/or lard to improve sales.
Kosher, Halal & Vegan types are 'somewhat upset' when this revelation surfaces, maybe they should be inspected & certified by such.
Myself, I sometimes have two burgers & skip the fries, same amount of calories but the former has (some) protein & vegetable matter while the latter is only carbs, fat & salt. Keep in mind that a large triple-thick shake (where's the milk?) has 1,200 calories, or 2 Big Macs worth.

If I were on a special diet (religious or health-related), I would be fairly pissed if a company claimed food X but secretly added Y. In fact, I think I would have a legitimate lawsuit.

    Right, that's misrepresentation &/or negligence

Look at the way they list ingredients on foods, spices, flavorings, nothing specific (to avoid competition getting wind of it), but suppose someone had a deadly allergy to one and died. Has actually happened. What about GMOs (kept unlabeled too, "they" don't want you to know) which might have DNA from such a deadly or taboo organism?
  • Edwin Kozmo 2012/09/11 06:09:12
    Edwin
That is a real problem with GMO's. I used to think they were fine -- if you have corn spliced with peanut DNA, just label it as such. Unfortunately, a couple years later some of that corn might end up growing in another field, and the farmer might not even *know* it has peanut DNA in it... so now people with allergies are at risk.

I'm not sure the taboo thing is relevant, though -- if your religion prohibits eating potatoes, is it still morally wrong to eat beets with a little potato DNA in them? I think the answer would be no -- it's a beet, even if there it has some potato genes.

But the risk for people with allergies is pretty big.
  • Kozmo Edwin 2012/09/12 08:26:09
    Kozmo
Conventional breeding has one vital requirement, that the new creature grows to fruition with decent effort. With gene-splicing, you're putting together combinations that would have never occurred in Nature with no clue (need long-term study) of any 'surprises that may 'crop up' (pun intended) some generations down the line .
  • Kozmo Edwin 2012/09/10 21:16:54

Right, that's misrepresentation & possibly negligence causing harm
if someone unwittingly ingested a deadly allergen
    bread & butter to attorneys.

I am a vegetarian, but honestly, I wouldn't want to eat anything from McDonald's, especially a veggie burger. Veggie burgers have a lot of odd ingredients in them, and I can only imagine how bad one from McDonald's would be. Though, that said, it's a really smart idea on their part.

Anything McDonald's puts out in the public is poison. Their meat is horrible (doubt it's really meat), the vegetables are usually frozen or rotten (from experience), and they supply food poisoning to the world (personal experience). This corporation used to produce good food but now it is nothing but trash. I hope that this restaurant fails but the stupid people around the world who don't know what good food is will support it, even if it makes them deathly ill.

Even though it is delicious, it is enough to make anyone vomit. I tried those Angus beef burgers and every single time I was absolutely sick. It may be even tastier the second time but I hate the feeling of my dinner being shot out as a projectile.

Your first sentence is somewhat contradictory, and irl I have met less than 5 people who didn't like the taste of McDonalds food, so your statement is also erroneous.
  • Matthew ♥K14 2012/11/19 19:24:05
    Matthew
Really? You have met less than 5 people who didn't like the taste of it? Fascinating... I should have been more specific when talking about the food in the first sentence. The food is greasy, meat is horrible, and the appearance is monstrous. The last time that I had McDonald's was a month ago (thought that they would improve the food) and I will never go back. No matter what location, the food is horrid.
  • ♥K14 Matthew 2012/11/24 19:07:30

I never claimed that it was good food, just that it's tasty.

I do not see how you could claim it looks monstrous, unless you believe that of all burgers/chips. Due to their uniform and neat shape, I would think it looks considerably better than traditional burgers. Most burgers I've seen in restaurants look messy, hang out all over the place and are dripping with fatty juices and sauces.
Again, it's a matter of opinion, but so far the implication of yours is that (assuming you eat burgers) you like your food to look messy and unhygienic.

The last time I had a McDonalds was about 25 minutes ago :P
Not that I eat them very often. Horribly overpriced...

Matthew, I can't agree with you more. Corporate food is man made food stuff disguised as nutrition. It's just as easy to swing by the grocery store as to swing by McDonald's. Deli dept. has gluten and msg free fresh meats, make a sub!
