Unfortunate, but I really don't see the connection.

They are all Austin; University of Texas COPYCATS . . . There are more out there; if only we will pay closer attention then we might be able to prevent them from copying more times in the future.

Another case of unarmed law abiding citizens at a gathering and at the mercy of a deranged person with a gun........And there are actually people that wonder why citizens won't give up their guns.
I look at the incident as even more reason for me to own a gun for home protection.

Pardon me, Frank. The Joker and this guy did not do their killing in private homes. How is having a gun at your home going to protect you and your family at a theater or at a church?
  • Frank askmike 2012/08/07 19:00:19
    Frank
You take your chances when you go to a public event, church, movies, world trade center, flying, traveling, etc. if you are unarmed...... The point I'm making is the Government will use incidents like Aurora, and the church to try ad disarm citizens, So if they do what happens when someone kicks your door in?????

I fear nothing, I am a viet nam vet, died once and came back to life. What's you story?

You said the government is trying to disarm citizens. Show the proof of that claim.

Why do you think Hillary is proactive in the US disarmament talks, you think she's arbitrarily doing that on her own???????????
  • askmike Frank 2012/08/07 23:16:40

Wow. The UN bill was designed to keep countries from sending weapons to narcotics gangs and thug-type regimes. The US Constitution far outweighs the UN agreements we have. Try to keep up, OK?
  • Frank askmike 2012/08/08 18:52:01
    Frank
You've made about a half dozen posts and have yet to get to the point you are trying to make. You are wrong about the UN bill, keep reading...
Here's my point I like guns, I am a war vet, so I can shoot very well. My point is if guns are banned we will lose our freedom. The current administration and all the croonies want to ban guns. Go research history of the world and see what happens when guns are banned.
  • askmike Frank 2012/08/08 19:42:35
    askmike
You need to read the UN bill. The text includes "it reaffirms the sovereign right and responsibility of any state to regulate and control transfers of conventional arms that take place exclusively within its territory." The NOP has lied to you. In addition, the UN bill is a treaty. If you had any knowledge of treaties agreed to by the US government you would know that all treaties need approval by the US Senate by a 2/3 vote. So explain your claim that the US government is trying to disarm citizens. What has the US government done to date to support your claim?
  • Frank askmike 2012/08/08 19:47:47
    Frank
I have no claim other than I will own a firearm. The reason the US hasn't down anything so far is they are afraid of the 80 million gun owners that aren't going to give them up very lightly, and that's the way we want to keep it.....
  • askmike Frank 2012/08/08 19:51:10

OK. You refuse to own your own post. That means you have no proof that the government is trying to disarm citzens. I won't waste anymore time with you. Good bye.

Having a gun for home protection is fine, but it only works if you're at home when you're attacked or home when you're home is attacked. What happens when you're in a crowded chaotic place? Or when you're not home when someone breaks in?
  • Frank SeaGurl 2012/08/07 19:04:31
    Frank
Evidently if you are at one of those crowded chaotic events unarmed you are at the mercy of the armed person...........
If I'm not at home then insurance is going to pay me back.

I'm just saying having a gun isn't going to help you in those situations.
Even if you're armed at a chaotic event. How could you ensure that you'd have a clear shot at the shooter? Before he shoots you? How could you ensure that when you whip out your gun to get the bad guy someone else doesn't assume you're the shooter and shoot you first?
  • Frank SeaGurl 2012/08/07 19:22:07
    Frank
There's tragedy all over the world not just here. Like I said you take a chance everytime you travel, go to a crowed event, etc. Think about the people that went to work at the world trade center that morning, and there was no gun even involved.
Hopefully if I ever am at a place some mentally disturber person starts shooting I will have a gun in my possession, I;d rather have one than not.

I'm glad you feel as confident with your gun as you seem. I have no problems with guns, I'm just not overly fond of people who have never fired one in their life and carry one around for protection.

I agree. But, It's real simple and everyone is making it hard. Allow concealed carry, and to get concealed carry you must have a complete background check, and you must take a shooting and safety class.

Ah. I've only ever shot/rented at a range so I'm not up to speed on the registration rules. But I'm glad you have to take a shooting class because I've seen people who hold a gun like you would a dead rat and I have to ask myself what are you doing with one in the first place?
  • Frank SeaGurl 2012/08/18 18:50:18
    Frank
That's true there are many people that have no business with a gun, especially the criminals, ha.
In Missouri where I live to have a concealed carry you must apply at the County sheriffs office, and you must present a safety class certificate, (usually costs $100 and lasts all day, and you must pass a shooting requirement). They then do a 30 day background check to insure you are legit, and not a felon or terrorist. If they approve you must go to license burea and get a license and to carry it. It must be renewed every 3 years or you lose the right to carry. There are also limitations in Missouri where you can carry a concealed weapon, especiallly school grounds, Government buildings, and anywhere a proper sign is posted that concealed carry is not allowed on these premises. It's a big responsibility to follow the rules for concealed carry. Criminals don't follow tose rules, those with concealed carry do.
So as you can see it takes a money, and time get a concealed carry in Missouri.

I'm starting to feel that the "hindsight is 20/20" argument is insulting to the victims.

There seems to be a shared attitude of attention grabbing that these killers want and are rewarded for by the amount of publicity given, after one of these attacks. oklahoma bomming

McVeigh trained with no one as 2 members of Saddam's Republican Guard did work.

Wrong, McVeigh was an accessory, not a principal.
The engineer and the bombmaker were members of Saddam's Republican Guard, all McVeigh did was drive the truck and they did not trust him to follow through, so the bombmaker rode along.

I remember hearing Mcveigh was upset when he found out the bomb was live and even more upset when he learned it was being placed near a building. I read also that the building itsself was rigged with explosive before hand like Bldg 7 of WTC.

They work people into being a patsy with lies and promises, then they betray you on one of the ''drills/preparedness exercises'' and leave you to the police or kill you. Once in police custody you get drugged or tortured or both, by an agent from the FBI/CIA.
  • Red Branch Josh Ro... 2012/08/14 23:01:10

None of that happened in the OKC Bombing.

I believe McVeigh said differently in an interview. He said they practiced to detonate a van for show on the news not to hurt others. He was betrayed on the day of the blast when he was forced to park it in front of the building with live explosives on board. This was always my understanding of what happened. Many demo people say that building wouldn't have sustained that kind of damage without help from inside. People report crews in the building weeks in advance, these are suspected to be people planting explosives on major support beams.
  • Red Branch Josh Ro... 2012/08/15 03:10:44

The Moslems set McVeigh up, getting him a get-away-car with a license plate missing. He was stopped for the missing license plate which normally receives a citation; he concealed .44 magnum is what got him arrested. That put him in jail when it was decided that he had driven the truck.

And nobody decided to figure out what 'those crews' were doing?

The only conspiracy and subsequent coverup was deciding to give Saddam a pass, same as happened with the 1993 bombing of the WTC.

TWA Flight 800 was also an Islamic terr attack and that was covered up as well. This has not been traced to any state sponsorship.

Now that Al-qaeta openly works with the UN/USA it's hard to tell what shenanigans they got into secretly in the past.

We have had Islamic terr cells in the US since the late 1970s.

    The UN needs to go.

Not a fan of MC McVeigh doesn't matter when you find yourself doing something for a cause watch out that's when you know your doing wrong unless it "s for a peaceful cause . Attention grabbers do the big thing. . All over the world> > too bad we play by their rules and lose liberty every time it happens
