I seldom take the skins off potatoes no matter what way I cook them. I usually peel for Potato Salad. But as far as mashed...either way...preferably red potatoes...skins are thinner and the potatoes are sweeter. potato salad mashed preferably red potatoes skins thinner potatoes sweeter

I usually leave the skin on as that is where all the nutrients and flavor is. On rare occasions, like Thanksgiving or when we have company, I will peel them for mashed potatoes, otherwise, for other types of potatoes I still leave the skins.

I chocked on the skins once. That was enough. I like red potatoes best. But if others are on sale that is what I buy.
Just potatoes, can't believe it's not butter lite, salt, pepper and creamer. Low fat or no fat creamer or half & half makes the potatoes much creamier, cuts the fat and they mash easier.

It really depends on the type that I am making. If it is regular pots.then I'll take the skin off,but if they are red pots.then I leave them on.
A good recipe for red skined pots is(steamed garlic mashed pots)

I don't cook them, but I don't like eating them with the skins, in mashed form.

    Baked, yes. Mashed, no.

Only with Red potatoes. Idaho skins are too thick and sometimes have that green tinge which is not good to eat, especially for kids.

My favorite is mashed with butter, cream, roasted garlic and some mozzarella. MMMM...good!

Red or White Creamers...clean real good...boil with salt....mash with sour cream, butter, raosted garlic, salt and pepper...sometimes I buy a good quality onion dip and use that instead of the sour cream....very good!

Sometimes I want good old-fashioned lumpy smashed spuds, skin and all. Sometimes, though, I want the smooth goodness of skinless mashed potatoes. Either way they get milk and butter and salt and pepper (and usually parsley) added to them. Sometimes they get sour cream and/or onions and/or garlic and/or chives and/or cheese and/or bacon -- it all depends on my mood, and the rest of the meal!

Depends on how much of a rush I am in. Usually skins on, more vitamins too. But, this week made um skins off cuz we had a picky eater at the table. I think I liked them better :D

Adds flavor and texture. I often simmer with a clove or two of garlic and/or a small, diced onion. After mashing, I usually add buttermilk and a little more garlic, s & p, of course...

Unless my parents are coming for dinner. Then it's always peeled -- straight milk, butter, s&p.

White potatoes himself peels and cooks. I like the red potatoes, so if I'm cooking it's red potatoes with the skins on. It seems like if himself likes it I don't and if I do he doesn't..

When I make them, I peel them. When I go out to a restaurant, I don't mind them in the potatoes. It's better for you.

I like the little red potatoes with the skin on. My grandmother would take a narrow strip of skin off the middle of the potato and boil them then add butter, salt, pepper and parsley. Taking the thin strip of skin off helped the potatoes absorb the other ingredients. They were delicious.

I like to leave the skins on.

I don't really follow a recipe. I just sort of wing it. Potatoes, butter, salt, pepper, whole milk.

If they are red potatoes I will leave them on. Mashed potatoes are carbohydrates without any fiber.... at least this way they have some fiber.
