We understand why a couple might want to coordinate outfits for a special event or a family photo. But wearing matching clothes for thirty-five years straight? We’re not sure if that’s incredibly cute or just plain weird.
One day in 1976 Mel and Joey Schwankes coordinated their attire. Whether they did it on purpose or by accident (they can't remember), they enjoyed the experience so much that they decided to continue doing so every day thereafter.
“We don’t go somewhere without having matching outfits,” Mel, 86, told local broadcaster KETV.

The Schwankes now have 146 custom-made matching outfits, which generally use the same fabric for Mel’s tie and Joey’s dress. Mel and Joey, 81, have run a flower shop for six decades—which explains the couple’s fondness for floral prints. The shop, which has belonged to Joey’s family since 1896, is one of the oldest businesses in Fremont, Nebraska.
The couple has been happily married for sixty-five years and they manage to work and live together harmoniously. So, couples who dress together . . . stay together?

I think this is amazing. Stuff like this keeps couples together.
I find it disturbing myself...
But it still disturbs me. Like stepping in dog-poo, icky and disturbing.
