Women live down to their mate's expectations more often than not, so that their husbands are not intimidated. If they are too smart, then husbands are threatened. If they are too sexual, then husbands are suspicious. If they make too much money, then husbands are angry. It goes on and on. Women are rarely just themselves, living under a man's limited point of view of who they should be on so many levels. Who wouldn't drink?

Think again. Hear it all the time. What's interesting, is most of the men are clueless. Hence the drinking.

I've never been married so I can't speak from personal experience. But I haven't observed any changes in my married friends' drinking habits. I don't see the corelation.

I know allot of married couples.Most of the wives don't drink at all.But,all the husbands drink .Some more than others.

People WANT to drink and then, when it becomes a habit, they're too ashamed to admit they have a legitimate problem so they look to place the blame on something or someone else. Classic addiction excuses.

I know many people who are married and they don't drink and if they do then its not a lot. Maybe 2 glasses of champagne. I know more people who drink heavily and aren't even married

None of the married women in my family drink. Mom has been married to Dad 54+ years - she never had a drink.
