It's a good time to be Mark Zuckerberg. Not only did the Facebook founder and CEO take his company public in a $16 billion IPO last Friday (the third largest in U.S. history), he also tied the knot on Saturday. Zuckerberg, 28, and his Harvard sweetheart Priscilla Chan, 27, were married at a small ceremony at his Palo Alto, Calif., home, a guest told The Associated Press.

The guests all thought they were coming to celebrate Chan's graduation from medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, but were told about the surprise nuptials after they had arrived.

The bride wore designer Claire Pettibone’s “Sky Between the Branches” gown, an ivory laser-cut floral dress adorned with matte sequins lined in silk, People reports. It retails for $4,700. We kind of love the lace panel over the chest and the simple yet elegant train.

Zuckerberg designed the ring featuring "a very simple ruby," a source told the AP. The low-key couple served food from their favorite restaurants, including sushi, and contrary to appearances, the wedding date wasn't tied to the IPO, the source told the AP. Sure it wasn't ...

Didn't anyone tell you that if you have nothing good to say, say nothing?!
Chan looks lovely and they look happy. That is all that matters.

Yes, better to be understated than overstated. If she's happy with it, I'm thrilled. Wonder if she had to sign a pre-nup.

A guy as financially well off as Zuckerberg could have done more than buy his fiancee a $4, 700 dress. That's like pocket change for him.

... the cost of a wedding dress has no influence on the strenth and duration of the marriage... Congratulations on them being 'reasonable' so that they might go about the business of being married.

I don't especially care for her dress and I don't think it was fitted well. She looks just ok. With all their money, she could have had something better in my opinion. But, if she was happy then good for them. My daughter-in-law paid in that range for her wedding gown and my son is not a billionaire or millionaire. She asked my opinion and when we saw her dress, we knew it was the one. Somebody should have helped this girl pick out a dress. Boring! Look at my My daughter- in- law's dress by comparison... A big difference in my opinion. wedding

But not to worry, they will do very well once China finishes purchasing the rest of the USA.

Perhaps they will make them the new rulers of the USA!

She can wear whatever she wants. They are among the richest people in the United States. I hope he got a pre-nup, however. Otherwise he is being foolish and too trusting.

I had to edit pre-nup, I hope ya'all didn't mind...my mobile Sodahead app is kinda poor on editing...so I came in here from my desktop. smirk.

Losing $10 billion over some kind of hypothetical falling out in the next decade, is just too much to be playing with...unless he really feels she helped build 50% of Facebook. not.

Love is love...but that is a LOT of money to be paying with, without a prenup.
People will kill for less than $100,000, if they get on your wrong side.
And even the nicest, sweetest, cutest girl can turn into the devil once money is involved.
    Just ask my two ex's.
You just gotta be careful, ya know?

It is nice they have been going together for a long time...and they are both loyal.
Zuckerman reminds me of Sam Walton. Once you get so unbelievably rich...you go back to your basics. But, I can understand WHY they kept it SIMPLE. when you have that much money...chaos could be the rule of the day, and he did not want his sweetheart turning into Bridezilla.

That reminds me of an antidote:
A black limo with a billionaire inside pulls up alongside a homeless man with his bike and clothes in a bag, sitting, fishing off a pier.

The billionaire rolls down his window, as the homeless guy turns to listen:

"You know...I could write you a check for $1 million...as an investiment in your future. You hire hundreds of people...and after a few decades...you can be just like me...and do whatever you want!"

The homeless fisherman pauses...comes to a relevation,
then says, "But...that's what I'm doing NOW!"
