You know what we're talking about. Simon Cowell does it all the time.

We're talking about men who leave their shirts partially unbuttoned, and the Daily Mail is not impressed.

According to a survey by Debenhams, three-quarters of British men would now go for a night out in a shirt with at least three buttons undone, while 41 per cent would leave four buttons undone.

The store says men cite actors Ryan Reynolds, Gerard Butler and, er, Burt Reynolds as role models for the trend but there are many more culprits closer to home: Russell Brand, Jude Law and, dear God, Chris Evans have all recently been sporting the open shirt.

So what's the verdict? Show your stuff or button up?

It's not for everybody. For one, you must have your chest shaved, and medium to plenty of muscle. Otherwise, if you're going to wear it unbottoned, remember a T-shirt.

Look like a badass, or look like a hairy hasslehoff. It's your call.

What about wrestlers? Nearly all of them shave their chests because they rub their chests on their opponents alot - less irritation on the chest. The wrestlers in my high school even used "Nair" before they went in the showers.
