Mac users may be more well-off, but should they be directed to hotels that cost more?(Reuters) - Orbitz Worldwide Inc has found that people who use Apple Inc's Mac computers spend as much as 30 percent more per night on hotels, so the online travel agency is starting to show them different and sometimes costlier, travel options than Windows visitors see, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday

I have a Mac but I am def NOT better off. I got mine used from Amazon.
I'll make sure to use another computer when looking for hotels.

What's good about Macs anyway? Just their higher musical ability? I normally use my comp for gaming so they aren't built for me.

I guess those sites figured if you will pay the extra price for a Mac than you can afford to pay extra for a room. Not fair at all, but when you use elitist equipment that is going to happen. Just joking. Your being taken advantage of and need to get some retribution.

If they've noticed a correlation between the type of computer you use and the amount of money you spend, seems fine to me. Notice it doesn't say they are speculating a correlation here- they've actually found one.

Macs are expensive as all hell. You guys apparently have some extra pocket change to blow that us regular people simply don't have. Yeah I have no issue with it...isn't my problem. I can't afford a mac anyways....and my pc can do everything that mac can and more anyways....I just dont have a cool logo...

Yes, a refurbished or a used mac is as 'expensive as hell'. I saved up for the mac- no I definitely couldn't afford the cost all at once. Also, people have different priorities. Some people spend thousands of dollars on an iphone or another smartphone that can be dropped in the toilet, but buy a crappy computer.

Some of us work for a living, and still can't afford that stuff. An overpriced computer, refurbished, only becomes an overpriced refurbished computer. I appreciate the attempt, but it still doesn't distract that Apple is making a killing off a product that's the same as any other....except they're pricing it 200% over it's value.

It's foul if you ask me. I am not wealthy at all, and all I buy is Macintosh computers. I have two Macbook Pros, and I buy Macs because they're better computers and run a better operating system. There are also other pluses to buying a Mac. If I'm going to buy a computer, I'm going to buy a nice one. I'd rather save up and buy a Mac than buy a cheap Windows computer with a suck-butt operating system. Just because people own a Mac doesn't mean they're spend thrifts. It means they're smart consumers. In the end, you get what you pay for. PCs suck butt.
