What do you think of the parents that are suing over their daughter that was born with Down Syndrome? They said they would have aborted her had they known. See CNN article link below. Thank you.

Nothing but cowards, me and my wife had a Downs child and 9 out of 10 are aborted! its very sad because these are the most loving children in the world!

Unconditional love ?.I really have to be honest as I can only speculate on a situation such as this..with not feeling the experience of such a decision..for that I am extremely grateful ,but whatever choice I would have to make, It would be at the forfront of my mind( if aborted ) that my unborn child would have that choice taken away,,I don't know whether I could live with that..I dont think they are thinking about their child only themselves.

I can't imagine how they feel, it never happened to me, but holding your baby in your arms is the most wonderful moment of your life. Love is blind is not only about your partner, it's about your kids too.

It's a very tough subject -- I don't know what I would do. I don't think I would ever want my child to think that I would have aborted them had I known something was wrong with them. I'm grateful I have healthy kids with nothing more than a bit of angst now and again.

Unbelievable. It's amazing how many 'normal' babies are aborted because the test was wrong. We've got us one of those down sydrome babies and are so thankful God chose to bless us with one. He is the joy of our lives.

thats soo horrible! I'm ok with abortion and I think its someones choice, but thats for the wrong reasons just because your child won't be perfect doesn't mean you can't love them. poor little girl.

As sad as it is, it should be between them and their God. I am against Abortion but again it is up to the parents not for me or others to tell them what to do.

No one ever said life is fair. I'm happy for those who have loving parents and for those who don't, minimize your time with them and find a way to give yourself the love they never did. Don't look to get it from someone else. It's not fair to them or to you in the end.

I find it sad, I believe you love your children, Was it something the hospital did to cause
this, if not, then should not sued the hospital.

The article is on the link above. The lab did make a mistake with the blood work. Still, like the article says, there is no guarantee one is going to have a perfect child.

The article indicates that the lab tested the wrong blood. That is why they're suing. I understand them being upset with the lab, but now that they have the child with them, I can't wrap my brain around them indicating they would have aborted her.

Perhaps this was a test and I think these parents failed it abysmally. While pregnant my daughter was in an auto accident, hospital did numerous tests to make sure the fetus was okay including the down syndrome test. All results were neg. She gave birth to a beautiful down sydrome baby. I think these parents are looking for an easy buck.

It is so sad that people would kill their own child for the only reason being that they dont want to have to deal with their child being "different"! Down syndrome is a condition, not something that defines who that child will be!!

Well, the doctor DID screw up, that's something that can be agreed upon, and they should get compensation for it. However, I think it's a bit cruel to say something like that about your child that is already born.

Medicine is NOT perfect! and trusting it as if it were is irrational, yes it is advanced and they would like to think theyve got it right 90% of the time, NOT always the Case!~
I would not have my brother (WHO doesnt Have DS -btw) if my mother had aborted him when the doctors told her he was going to have DS, the chances (they told her) of him being born with DS a 75% chance!~

I agree. They definitely have a right to be upset with the lab that conducted the blood tests; however, the reaction is a little disturbing.

They are worse than barbarians. Downs Syndrome people are delightful and loving. They should never be killed in the womb.

Just as tragic are the babies who did not have Downs Syndrome but were aborted because of faulty or misread testing.

All abortion is wrong, period.

...and I speak from experience with a hydrocephalic child, though we chose not to sue. It's truly unfair to assume that they won't be loving parents, however.

The parents need to be aborted, but that is illegal. Demand they both be sterilized.

Stupid lawsuits like this are why lawyers are rich and medical insurance is expensive.
