hehe jk!
i say schools are much better now, though there are always little details to be worked out. hugging a kid should not constitute sexual harassment, but bringing a gun to school is definitely serious and horrible. what´s better about schools today is that they are actually kept in line. they can´t just teach whatever they please. they can´t just get away with what they want. and if a teacher is a sexual predator, you can bet that people won´t just let it slide. and if a child really does have a learning disability, he isn´t immediately labelled retarded and failed for something out of his control. if a child is beaten by a teacher or a parent, someone steps in and points out the psychological damage of abuse.
if you would really prefer the kind of school system that was okay with being forceful, manipulative, and physically punishing, then i suggest you look for another country.
