I am kinda at a loss right now, Im not sure how my lip is supposed to look/feel at this time. Its been 3 days and its still very swollen and my lips are chapped. Stuff has been coming out and I have been told thats normal with any piercing but I only have peroxcide and contact lens cleaner. Thats what I was told to use but I have also used Alcohol twice. ANY advice would be wonderful!!

i have my lip pierced and heres the deal....
1.DO NOT USE ALCHOHOL!!!!!it dries out the flesh,and can cause it to rot
2.rinse your mouth out twice a day with sea salt and water mixed
3.after eating,drinking,or smoking,rinse your mouth out with just clear water.
4.once again,dont use alchohol,peroxide,or any other shit!
one of my GF's is a piercer and shes very good,trust these instructions and take care of your lip.

i rinced my mouth with salt when i got mine. its suposed to hurt for atleast a week.

as you know i pierced mine also, but im letting it heal back. But my lip is still swollen and the white puss stuff is on the inside of my lip. I used peroxide and it bubbled very little and didnt seem to do anything. Im thinking it is just skin growing back.

you should get a nonalcoholic mouthwash and Q-tips and place it on the outside with the Q-tip also try to swish around the mouthwash. IT'S NECESSARY FOR IT TO BE NONALCOHOLIC! also, you can put chap stick on and around it to promote faster healing, but try to not twist the piercing around that much, just clean the stuff that comes out of it off. The stuff is normal. It should eventually stop, because mine did after about two or three weeks. Mine is wonderfully fine now and i have had mine since September!! i don't think the contact fluid is smart, I've never heard of that.

p.s. the top comment is right, the alcohol will make it dry out (my friend tried it and her turn out, EWWWWW)

i got my ears pierced when i was five and they got really infected (soo nasty!!) but now ive had them re-pierced and theyre just fine *victorious chuckle* but i have no clue when it comes to facial piercings

it's been said that it's really bad to use what you did,did'nt they give you a cleaner where you got it?
You should get a cleaner and also use sea salt mixed with warm water to rinse your supposed to rinse out with the solution everytime after a meal...
Piercings are very delicate...i suggest you get it checked out....cause i had a dilemma like this but with my eyebrow one it got pretty bad.

i never had that problem with mine........it never swelled up at all......just dont take it out ........or else it'll close up......the piercing in between my eyes isnt there anymore cuz i took it out and left it out........so if you want to keep it just leave it and use blistex.......my lips did dry out and blistex seemed to work the best

I mean this: Don´t u usse a lot of contact lenses cleaner, it gets irritated most of the times, my friend did it and its lips were like carrots.

and us listeren for th inside of ur lip
wen ur lip is swollen just take ibprofen
it will take th swelling down and it will take
th pain away..trust me it will work just do tht for
2weeks and it will start to look a lil better than wen u got it
peirced dont listen to red monkey he doesnt know wat hes tlking about cuz tht guy who peirced my lip he said use listern for th inside of ur lip and bactine for th outside.
but if this makes red monkey mad im srry i wasnt trying to be rude but i went to this place were i live th place is called
imortal ink it does peircings and tattoos.......

I'm a Licensed Body Piercer Reg. No. 24213608 (EU)
Don't wear make-up, don't under any circumstances use 'Tea Tree Oil' don't use ANYTHING apart from clean water no soap.
it will clear up all on its own, and don't pick at it, you have more germs and virus's under your finger nails than you would find on a public toilet floor!

Didn't you get instructions from your piercing salon?

Youch ok. I used a teeny bit of alcohol twice and I wont use it again. Thank you sooo much!! They said to use Dial soap but I dont ahve any of that kind. I have Irish Spring.

dont use soap,if it gets in the piercing,it mimics infection and can cause the swelling.for at least a week,just use water and sea salt.

I haven't had a lip piercing, but I did have my labret done. I was told to use the foaming anti-bacterial soap and that worked fine. But it did look infected for about two weeks, despite my constant care of it.

it sounds like its doing fine. you have to be sure to be using mouthwash very very often. but you should buy one that doesnt have artificial colors in it, that may screw with the fresh wound. there is a product called H20cean that you can also use. its basically salt water in a spray can. each time you use it it will make the stuff coming out go away.

I love it though. I also have my tongue pierced. I love the pain of piercings and tattoos. Its a coping skill of mine lol. Plus I love the look! Thanks Gun. : )
