Lincoln and America and todays situation in America !. Happy 4th of July America.

As a military veteran, I took an oath to: “Support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic... So help me, God.” But this begs the question: Who are these enemies of the Constitution? Are there foreign enemies who would destroy our Constitution? Does Al-Qaeda have the power to seize our civil and constitutional rights? No. Our overseas enemies cannot take our freedoms and civil liberties away from us. Only America’s “domestic” enemies could pull off such a feat. So many times we focus only on America’s foreign enemies, while forgetting that America also has “domestic” enemies.

Most of America’s past leaders have understood that America was far too powerful ever to be destroyed by our foreign enemies. If we ever lost our freedoms, it would be because we brought it upon ourselves. Listen carefully to the words of Abraham Lincoln:

“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves… Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step over the ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never!—All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth in their military chest; with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a Thousand years. At what point, then, is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.”

We must understand that America is at war! However, this war is not being fought on some foreign soil, with tanks and planes. It is being fought here at home. It is being fought in our courts, it is being fought in our schools and it is being fought in our churches. I am not referring to a war against terror, but a war for the very soul of America. It is a war of ideology and it is a war for the political, spiritual and moral direction of this nation.

For over 80 years there has been a silent war raging in America, between those who believe in the type of America that our founding fathers created and those whose single goal is to destroy it. And the battleground for this war is our society, our schools, our churches and our government.

As we progress throughout this book, we will see how the “American form of government” and the “social system” that our founding fathers created has been gradually overthrown and ultimately destroyed, and how another form of government has evolved and replaced it, especially with regard to our civil and state rights.
