I am for the legalization. Not everyone wants to smoke weed, but those who do, should have a right to puff a plant.

Definitely. Marijuana actually is native to the Middle East, and not anywhere else. (many believe that it is native to Mexico, Central and South America, where it was only introduced into those countries). For those in the Middle East, it has been a sacrament and a luxury for thousands of years. Babylonians, Persians, Romans, Greeks, all used Marijuana in some form or another. It was a common plant there. get the drift?

Less harmful than alcohol, cigarettes, prescription pills, over the counter pills... you get my drift...

I don't do marijuana. But I know a lot of people that do. More people die or are killed from alcohol. and its not illegal.

Legalize and tax it! Won't happen though because to many politicians and judicial people make the corrupt money from drugs!

Look up William Randolph Hearst and his influence with getting hemp paper banned. He's the biggest reason marijuana was made illegal.

just cuz its leagal doesnt mean every1s gotta smoke it. to many ppl are serving hard time with the rapist and murderers cuz they had sum weed. plus between weed and alcohol if one had to be leagal and one not it should be the other way around. ppl (me included) do some stupid stuff and not even remember it on alcohol but weed. the 3 stages are happy hungry sleepy. how does that hurt anything. infact it helps, when ppl are happy there less angry and do less angry stuff when ppl are hungry they go out and buy food and eat it that helps the economy right there. and when ppl are sleeping how can they cause trouble, and even with those stages there mild. ppl very rarely even notice if iv been smoking its just not that big oh deal.

I haven't smoked pot in years and don't care to, but you'd think we'd have learned something from the disastrous attempt to make alcohol illegal. Unless we're willing to adopt Draconian measures as in, say, Singapore, our current approach only enriches drug cartels, lawyers, and bureaucrats at taxpayer expense. Make driving DUI a capital offense and then legalize it.

The number of older Americans who are vehemently opposed to its legalization are starting to die off and the polls showing increased support for its legalization reflect as much. Frankly I don't see how they can object in good conscience to its use for medicinal purposes as opposed to recreational purposes?

It would end that part of the illegal drug trade....
and make for a more safe product, as most would grow their own....
If they choose to have a brain like jelly in the long run, let them....BUT if they test positive for it, since it has a mind and body altering effect, like alcohol, any worker who works with machinery, or in the medical profession, or any profession that can harm others,be continually tested, and not allowed to work at that job if they they test positive....I realize that would leave a lot of job openings....but then, perhaps people might rethink their choices in life...

I doubt I need to drag out the laundry list of legal things that are much worse for you than pot. Legalizing it wouldn't suddenly bring a mandate for all to smoke it, all it would do is free up some jail cells so we can fit people who commit actual crimes in them.
