From the bacon sundae to meat cupcakes to the buffalo chicken shake: meat-infused desserts are all the rage. The latest addition to the trend—just in time for the Super Bowl—is the chicken wing cupcake.
Unlike the meat cupcakes from The Meatloaf Bakery, which are really just meatloaf pastries shaped to look like cupcakes, Coccadotts Cake Shop combines the traditional dessert with actual meat. The cupcake itself is made of cornbread, which is then topped with bleu cheese frosting and a chicken wing on top.

The special Super Bowl treat was invented by the bakery’s owner, Rachel Coca-Dott, and costs $3.50 a pop, a dollar more than their usual cupcake price. Even so, they’ve been flying off the shelves and have even been outselling the Giants-themed desserts. (Coccadotts is located just outside Albany, NY.)
"People are coming in droves. They're pre-ordering. We're getting calls from all over the United States for the cupcakes," said Coca-Dott.
And on a certain level, the popularity of the chicken wing cupcake makes a lot of sense. According to the Wall Street Journal, Americans are expected to consume 1.25 billion wings during Super Bowl weekend. That comes out to about four for every man, woman, and child in the United States.
What do you think? Are chicken wing cupcakes a great idea or just gross?

I say you eat the chicken (I like a salad and some potatoes and corn to accompany it) and then you enjoy the cupcake for dessert. That's the only way!
I mean, ...what's the point?
From the article:
“The cupcake itself is made of cornbread”
Here in the South we eat BBQ chicken (just about the same as wings only with more meat) served with corn bread and bleu cheese dressing for dipping..
Truthfully, as a lover of food and a bit of an amateur cook myself, I like the idea of portioning food. It's a more “conservative” way of serving snacks to your friends.. ;')
But if it is combining different foods that don't seem to go together, I bet you wouldn't have a problem sinking your teeth into this horrible concoction.
If it does, we might be looking at having to be exposed to something as revolting as this mismatched concoction.
From the article:
“The cupcake itself is made of cornbread”
Some people believe pizza is gross, so believing something like a Buffalo wing serves on a bleu cheese dip on a corn bread muffin could be considered by some to be nasty.
This is just the same JUST silliness.
with my full REGARDS for the poster...
It's a corn bread muffin, just like we eat with our chicken here in the South. The “frosting” is bleu cheese just like what most people dip their chicken wings in.
Guess you didn't take the time to read the article..
