No, but I do understand some of the dynamics of domestic abuse and I understand why many women don't leave their abusers. It's a complicated issue and not always as simple as "Just leave him".

No, a man who feels free to hit once will do it again, and again, and again. I made it clear to my husband before we married that one hit would be the end of the marriage, and probably of him once I told my dad and other male relatives. It's never been an issue. I'm married to an awesome man.

Never. First of all, I'd try to do as much damage as possible, and then I'd make sure he could never find me again.

Any man that would lay a hand on you for any reason at all should be dumped immediately. Do not get involved with someone like that no matter how sorry they say they are.

Great comment below! "A MAN wouldn't hit you in the 1st place!". Another thing to mention is that a MAN would intervene or pull aside some guy who does this and make things very clear!

I have compassion for women who feel trapped by this but Ladies....you have options find them as this IS 99.9% of the time a no-win situation and everyone loses!

I agree and that is not good but hear me out. A man has such strength in even a little slap that it is far worse that a women can inflict. My father never approved of men spanking their children because he said that man were unaware of the strength in their hands. Yes, a violent woman needs to be stopped to.

Any man who hits a woman has more problems than she needs to be exposed to. Get the hell away from him.

Heartsonfire, I hope you will re-think that answer. In almost all cases, a man who will hit a woman once will do it over and over, and will escalate to greater violence. My sister-in-law learned that the hard way. She ended up barren after he punched her in the stomach while she was pregnant, killing the child and doing terrible damage to her uterus. She finally left him, leaving everything she owned behind to escape. She had long scars on her face and arms. She lived in terror of him, even though her father kept a shotgun by the door in case he ever showed up. It all started with a slap when they were first dating. He cried and apologized, then repeated the cycle over and over, getting worse as time went by. Please don't stick around if a man ever strikes you, no matter how much you believe you love him. Trust me--he doesn't love you if he will hit you. Protect yourself.
